I think the lyric is "Someone put a fence up" then, for two reasons - the wall Israel put up between them and Palestine - makes sense with the Birds lyrics - we'll be Birds, because birds can fly over fences and walls and overcome them Wow, great lyrics then. Don't need words...we'll be birds !

Love it how they only name Yellow, Clocks and Viva as hits and then imply Chris also got famous because of his "profile-raising collaborations with Jay Z and Kanye West". I would think these collabs only played a minor role in raising his profile compared to his work with Coldplay !

Guess what happened when Christmas Lights played for the second time ? I overheard a guy approaching a staff member and asking what was playing. The staff member said he doesn't know ! I debated for two minutes with myself if I should go over and help this guy out, but in the end my shyness won over...plus he looked really weird, and it was nearing 1 am and closing time of the coffeeshop, and I'm a girl...didn't feel comfortable starting a conversation with a stranger at that point. I feel a bit bad because it would have been so easy for me but I'm sure this guy will still find out if he memorized at least a few words of the lyrics.

Also, the repetition of the chorus melody with "Lalalallala tadaaa tadaaaaaaa" sounds awkward. Not even sure whether this is Beyonce or her kid singing, but it really destroys the momentum...

I saw them live last month (my first rock/pop concert ever !!!). Fun fact, at first I thought them to be a bit rude because they didn't apologize or thank the crowd a hundred times. Then I realized they are probably normal and MY expectations are way off because all I've ever seen are videos of life performances of a band with a highly awkward an apologetic frontman ;) They are nice people actually, got their signatures after the show and talked a little bit to them !

This could have been a good upbeat song with that melody and chorus, but unfortunately the timing is off at several points. Poor choices in terms of buildup. Also the end "lemme shoot across the skyyy" drains the energy out somehow at the end of the song...

I wouldn't have thought me as an Oldplayer would ever say that, but Fun is indeed an AHFOD track I could imagine somebody (or me, if I'm in the mood) crying to. So bitterweet and melancholic. It has hugely grown on me. Especially the beginning with the vocals and guitars is so sad (no pun intented).

Well I missed half of it because I was blasting AHFOD through my headphones...and only when I took them off briefly to plug my laptop in did I realize what I was about to miss...
