Your Coldplay Dream Setlist
It took me at least two hours to make it, but finally I did... Here's my dream setlist (2 hours): *intro/pre-concert* We Never Change (Instrumental): all is dark. Slowly, purple fog comes out and shades of blue and orange increase the sense of mystery. Then a big white display come out and suddenly the light breaks... First part: Square One Clocks Crests Of Waves Spies Glass Of Water Gravity Daylight Swallowed In The Sea Strawberry Swing See You Soon Everything's Not Lost Second part: Cemeteries Of London Midnight Green Eyes Low Death And All His Friends Rainy Day Amsterdam Violet Hill Prospekt's March/Poppyfields Don't Panic Warning Sign X&Y Lovers In Japan (Acoustic Version) Encore: Chinese Sleep Chant I Ran Away Speed Of Sound it won't ever happen, but if I have to dream... :D

Fan song theory time!
Sometimes simplicity is great, that's the reason why we love most of their lyrics. Yes, the line between "simple" and "trivial" is thin, and that's why there are some bad lyrics here and there, but depth is not a synonimous of complexity

Fan song theory time!
I agree with you on Fix You, but some songs of X&Y have the best lyrics of their catalogue. Square One, Speed Of Sound, Low, Swallowed In The Sea, Til Kingdom Come... only the ones on Fix You and A Message are cheesy and bland, the other songs are normal. For The Bends/Ok Computer, there are some songs that are not so refined lirically, even if they are good songs, and there are songs with great lyrics that musically are not so good, but this is another story...

It's difficult to be considered a great lyricist for MX when half of the time of the album is covered by choirs...

Top 6 albums from weakest to best
yes, sorry for not explaining, I was in a hurry when I wrote the message. 1) X&Y is my favourite because I think it's their more mature album, lyrically and musically speaking. I can also relate emotionally to all of the songs, and it was my first era as a fan, even if I knew them already. 2) VLVODAAHF because it was their more creative era. They "experimented" a lot, embracing different music genres and metrics and giving the lyrics an allegoric taste. 3) A Rush Of Blood To The Head because it's a very solid rock album and full of great ballads. It's their first good attempt to make their "masterpiece" 4) Parachutes because I like its very intimate warmness and the contrast between the depth of the atmospheres and the freshness of its acoustic parts. These were the one I really love. Then there are: 5) Ghost Stories: a good LP, it could have been a Chris solo album for obvious reasons, not only lirically but even because it reflects the musical taste of the "modern Chris". Its flaws are related to the poor lyrics in some of the songs and the fact that the best songs (except for Midnight) are only bonus tracks (All Your Friends and Ghost Story). And ASFOS it's maybe their worst song ever. 6) MX: It has a good concept, but the songs are generally terrible. Overproduced, too poppy, bland, creativity lacking, full of choirs instead of lyrics. Its only good moments are Major Minus and Up With The Birds, that are great songs imho. Another song that could have been awesome if it wasn't overwhelmed by sound effects is Hurts Like Heaven, the rest is quite forgettable.

ELIMINATION #1: PARACHUTES
Spies is awesome, but Don't Panic is just too iconic of the warmness of the Parachutes era. so my vote is for Spies, Don't Panic must win :)

One Last Time - Original song On Guitar
If I could say, I think it could be a great acoustic version for a rock ballad. I like the chords progression, vocals are not that bad, they're only a little rough (in a good way). Just a suggestion: lyrics could be improved. It's a good song, keep it up and try to sharpen it ;)

First Single Predictions!
Imho no, it can't. Space rock in its proper shape is attributable to 70s music (for example you can listen to "Meddle" from Pink Floyd to have an idea). Despite this, X&Y has some spacey sonorities that give a great sense of depth to their sound

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I think we are all here because we all love CP, and I might say we all agree with that. And imho there is not only one way of loving them, simply everyone feels their music and their story through the years differently. I say it without any kind of anger or superiority (my opinion count just as much as the others, or maybe even less), but I'm not the kind of person who "forgives" everything only because I love something. I think that the best way to love music is focusing on the flaws trying to find a way to improve as far as possible. Criticism is the strongest way of love imho, because I know that the can do better than what they are doing right now and I believe they can still do something beautiful for us all. Just saying, I saw them live during the MX era that is my least favourite ever (and I always criticize it), if this is not love....

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
There are so many great artists/bands that make great pop music today, but they aren't mainstream, like there's a large number of indie/alternative acts that make terrible music. . The problem is not pop,is the quality of music.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Apart from Keane that were born at the same time, the others were bands who were influenced by them and tried to emulate their sound. Still today there are bands who tried to do that (Kodaline, Imagine Dragons,...), but normal people din't play nice because they were listening to Coldplay or changed their clothes or haircut.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
When did they do that? They've never been cool enough to do this and I think they never wanted to, they were just playing their music and showing their way of seeing the world. They've always been considered too poppish to be alternative and too alternative to be trendy, and they lived the top of their career in the first part of a too underestimated decade like the 00s, the least iconic period of the last 60 years. I only know that pop culture of that years (2000-2006) had its flaws like all the others decades, but also had great songs that were also big hits and I still remember most of them.
