  1. We've had too many little hints these past few months after years of silence for it to not mean anything... 1. Guy acknowledging the IDEA of an LP8 on Instagram. 2. Davide Rossi's Instagram post mentioning "looking back at the past and looking forward to the future". 3. Announcement that Coldplay would return next year for GC Festival 2020. 4. NME posting in November 2018 that Coldplay may release something "in a years time" saying it would be "surprising". 5. DailyStar reporting that Coldplay are releasing an "experimental" album in November (sounds similar to NME's article). We don't see sites like these claiming new Coldplay albums are coming all that often. Last time I remember this kind of reporting to happen was prior to AHFOD's release. 6. Reddit users mentioning that the album will be released "sooner than anticipated". 7. Several radio stations saying that "something new is coming within the next 30 days" etc. 8. Chris has a new haircut. This is by far the most solid lead we have that a new album is imminent. (/s) All these tidbits add up people!!
  2. I'm officially hopping on the hype train. New single to be played at the TIDAL concert in 2 weeks. Bet.
  3. You're all speaking logic and reason but I'm still gonna hold out stupid faith that we might see something LP8 related in 2 weeks time! haha
  4. So Coldplay just retweeted this... this event is happening in 14 days. "And surprise performances" - I know we're all expecting new stuff next year but I can't help but hope...maybe...!!!!
  5. It's 100% they're playing the Global Citizen festival in September 2020 because their twitter account retweeted Global Citizen's tweet saying that the band was playing it. So there can be no disputes over that. Anyway, the band will have been on a near 3 year hiatus by Sept 2020. If they're going to play the festival it means they're going to be practicing, a lot, next year before the festival (even if they only play 2 songs). If they're practicing together again, then they're making new music together. I'm 100% confident we will get official LP8 news within the next 12 months.
  6. Must manage our expectations as it could be after Sept 2020. I remember when they did a GC festival in 2015 and they released AHFOD after that. They played Amazing Day though at the festival and people were freaking out if it was a new song on the album or not. So by the very least I’m expecting ONE new song by Sept 2020 from LP8.
  7. Coldplay playing at Global Citizen Sept 2020 so expecting new album next year!!!

Rise Up has 0 credits to anyone in the band. It was done just by Stargate.

Yeah. Was just about to say that I think that for what the song is, it's pretty good. I've had it on repeat for the past few hours while I'm programming my coursework. It's a really chill and fun song to have in the background when you wanna focus IMO.

I'm calling it: it's an alter ego thing like Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band for the Beatles or Ziggy Stardust for David Bowie. This might just be for 1 album.
  13. LP8

Brook replied to Jonny and the cake's topic in Past Releases
Time to start speculating again now that the tour is ending today...
  14. For anyone who wants to know the translation for what Chris was singing during GPASUYF: "Neither one nor the other, I am, I was and I'll remain myself" From the song Bâtard by Stromae. http://lyricstranslate.com/en/b%C3%A2tard-bastard.html
  15. My friend says thank you!
  16. Hey wasn't sure which board to post this in but one of my good friends just posted a fantastic cover of Green Eyes so please check it out!
  17. Absolutely brilliant! I hope Coldplay continue in this direction.
  18. Glad you enjoyed it! I was in early entry general admissions, how about you? :)
  19. Brilliant first show for me! The crowd was fantastic! The George Michaels tribute was incredible, really enjoyed that :) Disappointed they swapped out Magic for Princess of China.. Coldplay came on stage about 20-25 mins late, so we did the New Years countdown at the end of Amazing Day. Chris made a song about 2016 to fill some time for the countdown. Then we had ASFOS and Up&Up but I believe the usual pyrotechnics used for Up&Up was spent on the New Years countdown as there were less fireworks during Up&Up. So happy to have seen them live for the first time and I really hope they come back soon :)
  20. This will be my first concert. :) I heard Chris Martin on the radio today but not sure if that was something specific for the UAE or something else...
  21. I'll be there for the Abu Dhabi show, guys! I'll record any new material if there is any :) So very excited to see them live for the first time!
  22. Yeah they did, you can hear it slightly at the end of every teardrop before the camera guy cuts it out. It isn't the whole concert. Video is only 1.5 hours whereas the concert is 2 hours. Also, I'm pretty sure I saw a clip of Birds somewhere... can't remember sorry
  23. Yeah, that's what it seems like. I think we can expect to see the new music video very soon. People will have to know the song prior to it being played at the Superbowl.
