June 6: The Hour interviews Coldplay
The total length of the show without ads but including all the show titles and a good five minutes of Strombo in his studio talking and giving their bio came to roughly between 42 and 45 minutes, if that's any help.

Too bad search is disabled, there's a massive thread around here somewhere... but it hasn't been posted in in over a year probably.

WE'VE FOUND THE BAKERY!! *NOW WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF* UPDATED FIRST POST!*
Yeah, they don't seem to have the cold opening up yet- pity, it's hilarious, sort of like the Kimmel skit. I don't have time to upload video this weekend, sorry, but I'll see if I can get a screencap before bed.

June 6: The Hour interviews Coldplay
Ok, I'm not one for those "lists" you know what I mean... but I still ended up with one. And that there... forty odd minutes of two of my top 3 just sitting on a piano bench together chatting... I'm dead. I'm... fangirl head explosion. Wow. :dead:

WE'VE FOUND THE BAKERY!! *NOW WITH PHOTOGRAPHIC PROOF* UPDATED FIRST POST!*
They showed the street on the Hour... with the shops its next to. ...It really is an ugly tiny little white thing down an alley. Definitely the dream clubhouse.

What sort of Dance music do you listen as a coldplay fan
Chemical Brothers and Moby are my big two. I have a thing for cheesy house music though I wouldn't know where to begin or what to look for. I love all sorts of different electronica... I'm just not very good at knowing what it is or where to find it. Oh, and I ADORE new wave, if that counts.

3/5 reviews for VLV from both The Independent & The Guardian
I know, x&y left me feeling all cold at the end, even when I liked it. This one makes me dance around and feel all warm and happy when it's done. I don't see how that could be a bad album.

3/5 reviews for VLV from both The Independent & The Guardian
^Thanks Mimi, that was good for the head and heart. At least someone out there gets it. Though they called Kid A dull??!! I think all this proves that you're only as good as your last album. X&Y got high marks because AROBTTH was near perfect. VLV is suffering because X&Y was a letdown for many. ...and in both cases first listens are deceptive skewing listening party conclusions- X&Y sounded better than it was on first listen, and VLV needs a couple of listens at least. Come to think of it, all these negative reviews are coming from what's probably the same listening party in London. I bet you all the critics were comparing notes with each other afterwards (or before :( )

Question For Older Members...
Yeah, roughly the same.

Cemeteries Of London :)
indeed. Well, everyone but the critics... boy am I glad I listened to the leak before all the big reviews started today. One good la la la heyay can wash a multitude of bad feelings away. :D Hey, I just realised I read somewhere that they even wrote it the way she does- they were trying to find out if there had ever been witch burnings in the Thames. ...so does this mean they're going to be going off to live with a tribe of Bedouin next album?

Cemeteries Of London :)
Me too ;) ...and I still think it sounds like a Loreena McKennit song.

June 6: The Hour interviews Coldplay
George said that song he was trying to play (butchered was his word for it) was supposed to be a Coldplay song?! :inquisitive: Any idea what on earth it was supposed to be? I can't tell.

How many times have you listened to the new cd?
All the way through, maybe 4 or 5. Shuffling, hours at a time for most of the day.

Cemeteries Of London :)
^^I'm not sure it would even work on the radio. Though it would be cool to hear it there.

3/5 reviews for VLV from both The Independent & The Guardian
Scathing review in the Mirror. Don't read it if you know what's good for you.

Doctor Who ???......
^Even I'll agree to that one. Though he certainly has a type though, doesn't he...

Album Streaming on Myspace Friday
Apologies if this is somewhere already and I've just added to the clutter, but I've looked and can't find it. Strombo just said on the Hour that the full album will be streaming on the Coldplay website when his show was over tomorrow. A quick check of the main myspace music page confirmed this: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music though it just said June 6th, so it might be earlier in the day. Just in case anyone is interested.

Doctor Who ???......
My head hurts. My head really hurts. :laugh3: Not so big on slightly off topic gossip, but like they said: "Normally such gossipy kiss 'n' time travel news is better left to check-out line tabloids or Larry King, but there's such a bizarre pseudo-incestual, mobius strip of intertwining coincidences here that they almost create a sci-fi story on their own." ...and they never even mentioned the part about her best friend growing up being the 6th doctor's daughter. I can't say I'm surprised though. I had a funny feeling they would end up together...

No, he's not a troll. I've talked to him before and he seemed pretty cool.

Text's To Landlines..Oh What Fun We Had
:laugh3: ...Isn't it Tom Baker who did the automated voice thing there?

Radiohead or Coldplay?
^Would anyone answer beyond a couple of grumpy emotionally stunted teenagers on that one? :dozey:

THE TIMES (UK) Viva La Vida Review (+ unseen picture)
Snarkfest city. :dozey: Further proof that music journalists are MOR trend following sheep every bit as much at the bands they criticize for being MOR trend following sheep. Kind of explains why X&Y kept getting 5 stars in all the same publications last time. So I take it almost all of the reviews this time around are going to be snarkfests as well. I think they're all from the same photoshoot. I really want to know how they did it, though. Trampoline? But I don't see one. He looks like he should be breaking his neck in a second. :worried:

Can Coldplay Do Anything Else? [Time Review]
"But having risked a bit, Coldplay has also gained." Sounds cautiously positive to me. Very thoughtful article, though. One of the better ones I've read.
