  1. Yeah. This whole issue is a big, fat, red herring.
  2. Maybe it's because when I click on "upload pic" in the personal gallery, it says: "This category has reached the quota of pics. Now you cannot upload any more. Please contact the administrators for more information."
  3. All I'm sayin' is... PETER FORSBERG. PETER FORSBERG. :wideeyed: :wideeyed: :wideeyed: :wideeyed: :wideeyed: (if only we hadn't traded him 13 years ago or whatever  )
  4. 2 TDs today by T.O. I've had a change of heart, we can keep him now. :bucktooth:
  5. Whoa... this is tonight? I thought the Emmies were in March or something. :freak: I'm not much of a TV watcher. Did Arrested Development win anything? I remember them being nominated for Emmy awards or something. And that's like the only show on TV that I still watch. Well, I guess I've been watching Stella regularly too but that's only been around for a couple months.
  6. It makes me laugh because the guy is obviously either a Coldplay fan or has watched all of the videos a whole lot. He's got all the mannerisms down perfectly. Buuuuuut unfortunately there's not really room for another Weird Al in the world, if you ask me. :P
  7. Dylan is very, very, very, very good (he put out as many classic albums in the 60s as the Beatles did), but mystical? I'm not even sure what that's supposed to mean.
  8. I don't have an iPod and probably never will but these are the Top 25 from iTunes on my computer: 1. Greg Weeks - Settle Down 2. Zero 7 - Light Blue Movers 3. Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky 4. Greg Weeks - Past Four Corners 5. Ray Charles - What'd I Say, Part 1 6. Bjork - It's In Our Hands 7. The Contours - Do You Love Me 8. Gorillaz - Feel Good, Inc. 9. Greg Weeks - I Will Fall to Meet Her 10. Greg Weeks - Ash Rising 11. Greg Weeks - Unsettled (By the Sun) 12. Robert Randolph and the Family Band - I Need More Love 13. The Beach Boys - Surfer Girl 14. Brian Wilson - Your Imagination 15. Greg Weeks - The One True Song 16. Greg Weeks - Sleep Right 17. Greg Weeks - Slightly West 18. Thelonius Monk - Round Midnight 24. Junior Senior - Move Your Feet 25. XTC - Garden of Earthly Delights
  9. Eh. They're all right. Alec Ounsworth's voice is nails on a chalkboard for me, though.
  10. I heard about this and my first thought was "who cares?" because Paul hasn't really done much worth mentioning in like, 30 years, but I'm surprised, it actually is pretty good.
  11. Some Meat Loaf fan you must be to refer to Meat Loaf as a band. I'm not even a fan, and I know it's just the fat dude. :P Actually, I'll admit to liking Bat Out of Hell every once in a while. It's an unbelievably bombastic and utterly ridiculous album, and that's not always a bad thing. :D But uh... no I don't have any sheet music.
  12. "the mess clinton left" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! "bush has done a pretty good job at cleaning up" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!           The sheer ludicrousness of those statements should be so self-evident that I'm not even going to bother refuting them. Also, yes, Bush won the 2000 election fair and square, as long as you consider the Supreme Court meddling to stop a recount to be fair and square.
  13. I like Daryl's post because it actually makes a clear, coherent argument. It actually says something that's worth reading, whether you agree or not. (For the record though, the oil reserves have actually been opened up, not that it'll make a difference.) Posts like "GWB is an asshole" are a waste of everybody's time.
  14. Right now I'm going with: Sufjan Stevens - Illinois Autechre - Untilted Architecture in Helsinki - In Case We Die Greg Weeks - Blood is Trouble BUT I'm saving room for Sigur Ros, Super Furry Animals, and ESPECIALLY Boards of Canada, because those three have yet to disappoint.
  15. CONVERSE IS OWNED BY FUCKING NIKE. You can't possibly be less "punk" than that.
  16. The real sick irony is that it all started because of people trying to avoid a suicide bomber. An actual suicide bomber could never have killed 1,000 people in that environment.
  17. Professor Peedston replied to a post in a topic in The Lounge
The second one is a pretty obvious fake, but the first clip is BITCHIN' KICKASS. Octopi fucking rock.
  18. I can't believe this debate is actually being carried out. And that people are seriously arguing that Coldplay are better than the Beatles. You know what? Maybe they're right. And while we're at it, maybe Michael Bay is a better filmmaker than Alfred Hitchcock ever was, and maybe Stephen King is a better writer than Edgar Allen Poe, and maybe Neil Simon was a better playwright than William Shakespeare.
  19. I used to work in a music store, and if people came in and played any of the songs you just listed I just used to roll my eyes and try not to say anything rude. Same goes for "Stairway to Heaven," obviously (see: Wayne's World).
  20. Architecture in Helsinkiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Nick Caveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee If anybody says Jet I'm going to reach through your computer and punch you in the stomach. :sneaky:
  21. The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream Broken Social Scene - You Forgot it In People (their first album sucked... their second is great) Brian Eno - Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) Bjork - Post (this one only counts if you don't count the album of Icelandic Jazz and the album she made when she was 11 years old) Godspeed You Black Emperor! - Lift Your Skinny Fists like Antennas to Heaven Do Make Say Think - Goodbye Enemy Airship The Landlord is Dead Sunny Day Real Estate - LP2 Belle and Sebastian - If You're Feeling Sinister
  22. Stevie wonder has a lot of songs that are straight funk. Like "Superstition." Don't get no funkier than that. Or "Higher Ground," "Do Yourself a Favor," "I Wish." Funk masterpieces. Jamiroquai are sort of funky. They have a lot of other similar influences, though, like Philly soul, disco, and acid jazz. It all depends on how loosely you define the genre, I guess.
  23. And no the Red Hot Chili Peppers are not funk although they do have some funky songs. :P
  24. How do you not know what funk is? :o Think James Brown, Parliament, Funkadelic, Sly and the Family Stone, Bootsy Collins, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield, War, Herbie Hancock (who was also a great jazz musician but "Head Hunters" is as good a funk album as I've heard), Charles Wright. Those artists are all great. Sly and the Family Stone's "Stand!" and James Brown's "Live at the Apollo Volume II" are good places to start if you ask me.
  25. I just took a satellite image from Google Maps because I didn't feel like installing a whole new program. I hope you don't mind. :P
