visually (regarding the scenery, the guys, their instruments, light-filtering)....i like it. :) :wink3: but i'm not too keen on how the video were edited. the close-ups and angles makes the shots look cheesy. hopefully the rest of the video is great. WHEN IS IT EVER GONNA AIR? :cry:

They HAVE to add SoCal into the tour lineup (it's LA for heaven's sake!), as well as the other major cities in the U.S.; it's unheard of to ignore them all! My guess for the info-retaining is that they're finishing up the booking process or since those cities sell-out super fast, it's kind of better to have the info released later to avoid any ginormous frenzy. *squeee* Can't wait for the concert(s)! :dance:

Try them out! Vampire Weekend is easy-listening and puts you in a good mood. ((The closest comparison I can put them with is The Shins)) True that VW's songs do sound a bit similar, but nonetheless they're refreshing at the moment (or at least to me, anyway). I love the indie/classic/afropop style combinations. Even better, it's only their first album. This band holds some promise. :) I was exposed to "Mansard Roof" and "Ladies of Cambridge" before "A-Punk" had hit the radio stations (LoC isn't on the latest album, btw). "Oxford Comma" and "I Stand Corrected" are my favorites right now.

okay so maybe at a glance the title of the album doesn't strike out loud as "how to dismantle an atomic bomb" or "take off your pants and jacket" (for example, LoL). but if you take the time to look at what each half of the sentence means, and contemplate more about ideas of "life" and "death," then this album title is beautiful. there's so much depth in what's been said with those words. i <3 it. and i'm already convinced that the album is going to be incredible. si, es verdad :smiley:

check out Youssou N'dour and Zap Mama (i know the former is considered "afropop" but the latter is a bit more contemporary methinks). if that's what Coldplay had in mind, by incorporating those styles, then i'm definitely excited to hear Strawberry Swing :D (oh snaps i haven't been back here on the boards in forever until all this buzz started flying everywhere) [/hiatus]

besides having to perform to members of the audience who aren't Coldplay fans, they're also performing in front of their business peers (other bands/artists, producers, execs, etc.) and probably to people they actually know. i can understand how that's nerve-wracking...

So many people are bashing this year's lineup. Jack Johnson isn't THAT bad, though I too was hoping someone else will headline for Friday. Anyway, more fun for the rest of us non-hating JJ people. :dozey: Portishead, The Verve, Fatboy Slim, Justice, Chromeo, M.I.A., Madness, Flogging Molly, Rilo Kiley, Hot Chip, Jens Lekman, Minus The Bear, New Young Pony Club...so there!
