  3. I've heard of banker's holidays, but mechanic's holidays, now that's a new twist!:laugh3: Well everyone needs a break, unfortunately your car's break happened at the wrong time - sorry to hear that David. But when you're without auto, there's always pedal power! ;) Organic Engines to the rescue!!:cyclist:

  7. > fall from outer space towards Earth with a parachute, expecting to not burn up as you enter the atmosphere! :helmet: (I know someone who really wants to try this, I caution against it, but hey, who knows - maybe they can surf down on a heat shield!:laugh3:)
  8. every post carries electrons in the wires strung between. :) >nah just live life, we all get to sample the hourderves, even if we only make one type. That's what family and the internet are for! ;) We're all wealthy beyond anyone's imagination, by our collective imaginations and collective works. :sunny:
  9. > :stunned::stunned: Mike, that's fantastic! And Nick too, wow, I'm impressed!! I sure missed this post, my apologies! So the movement is somewhat overwintering I gather? Anyhow, I hope it stays alive, I feel it must as the issues are still there, we've got to fix what's broken with our system, it surely won't fix itself. 10. Random is random! :P You still have to tell me the mathematical basis for true randomness, which if you get it right, might unearth the secrets of the Universe..;)
  11. Nah, everything will be good! Grab life by both horns, and it'll all work out. Build the world and the tomorrow you want to see, ally with those who are making that brighter future. The fear is normal, but the water's warm. ;)
  12. I learned today there are two types of managerial styles, X and Y. X is dictatorial and critical of the mistakes of workers and powertrippy, while Y is communicative, reinforcing positive results, teamwork, progress. Y wins out with better results!
  13. > Braun Toothbrushes came first (early 1990's).:P While not automotive, they sure give your gums a workout, and the inductive charging is pretty cool, letting you race around the track with your organic engines!:laugh3: Organic Engines >The first inductive charging system for cars came out in 1998 (Magne Charge, developed by Hughes Electronics for GM), & was used by several types of electric vehicles including the EV1, and from what I gather was a sort of paddle you inserted into a slot in the car. Inductive charging - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Then came the car crusher for the EV1's, and the California Air Resources Board decided to go with the "Avcon" conductive interface during the 90's/ 00's era of the electric car. I think credit can be given to MIT's wireless project and a team led by Marin Soljacic (i believe, a Czech!:hat:), and this team in 2006 discovered an efficient way to transfer power between coils separated by a few meters, extending the distance between by adding resonance to the equation, via an apparatus using some sort of curved coils and capacitive plates. Perhaps useful for levitation as well!. Since then, several companies have developed charging plates for inductive charging, including Rolls, but not limited to just them!;) (granted I would imagine they have the very best one though.) 15. I like it, I think that is really cool. Sounds easy enough the install in the average car garage, so just park and charge overnight, you're ready to go 1st thing in the morning! Clean, neat, and no fuss - I think credit goes to the Japanese for making the electric car easier to refuel than a gas car! PS - wonder if this can be applied to toys as well? - maybe to car racing sets, toys need to keep pace with the technology too, gets us started early with the latest greatest technologies! Imagine a racing set where there's no electric feed on the track, just pull over a charging pad, let your car pick up the good vibrations from the electromagnet below, and you then pull out of the pit stop, ready for racing action! I'd go for that!
  16. Ahh, sounds swweeet! Caution! Achtung! Attention! :biker:

  19. That leaves out the Emancipation Proclamation, the Gettysburg Address, the passage of the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, the soldiers' belief in ending chattel slavery and wage slavery, which brings us to today. Ending global slavery and wage slavery is still an ongoing fight, please support the efforts for reform and justice: About Global Exchange | Global Exchange Occupy Wall Street | NYC Protest for World Revolution
