  1. Here you can rate (1 to 10) the songs of Mylo Xyloto, which leaked today. I'll start. 1. Mylo Xyloto: 8/10 This opening just sounds great. It sounds a bit dreamy and is a excellent lead in for the following track. 2. Hurts Like Heaven: 9/10 Was my absolute favorite during the festival tour this summer and the studio version didn't disappoint me. Love Jonny's guitar work and the effect on Chris' voice didn't bother me, it sounds different. In a positive way. 3. Paradise: 7/10 Wasn't a fan when it was released as the second single but, as for most of us I guess, it has grown on me. It fits on the album and I'm ok with it. 4. Charlie Brown: 9/10 As we all said before, Charlie Brown has the potential to be a classic. Love the building up of the guitar in the beginning and when it 'explodes' it's really epic. Also love the piano outro at the end. Thought this was just for the live shows before Live Is For Living but I'm glad it's part of the song. 5. Us Against The World: 7/10 The intro is magical. Love the way they kept it small and intimate. Reminded me a bit of Now My Foot Won't Touch The Ground. Simply beautiful. 6. M.M.I.X.: 7/10 This one is a great way to lead in Every Teardrop. It makes the beginning of that song even more euphoric. 7. Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall: 8/10 Well, we all know this one. Still not a big fan of the lyrics but the music makes up for that. Still love the rhythm, the guitar and the euphoric ending. 8. Major Minus: 6/10 I just don't know, I never really liked this song. It works live, but on the studio version the effect on Chris' voice just bothers me. I know HLH has a similar effect, but with this track it just isn't working. Also the 'oho ooh ooohooo, got one eye..' is quite simple and annoying. 9. U.F.O.: 8/10 The prove that not the whole album is 'overproduced'. Give Chris a guitar and he writes a song like U.F.O. The violins are decent too and the whole song reminds a bit of the 'old Coldplay'. 10. Princess Of China: 9/10 The biggest discussion point on Mylo Xyloto, I guess. I personally really like this one. Why? Just because it's different from all of the other songs. And though what you think of the lyrics, I actually like them. Sure, the 'you stole my star, lalalalaaa' part is a bit easy and catchy, but the chorus sung by Rihanna ('I could have been a princess...') is really awesome. Also I think Rihanna did a great job. 11. Up In Flames: 7/10 Beautiful in it's simplicity. Love the rhythm, as well as the piano playing by Chris. Had some doubts about the lyrics, but the way Chris brings them is beautiful. Think I will get slightly annoyed by the drum machine. 12. A Hopeful Transmission: 7/10 The interlude which we all surely forgot while writing this review. But it works as a lead in for Don't Let It Break Your Heart. 13. Don't Let It Break Your Heart: 8/10 I read somewhere it was the Politik of this record. I can find myself in that. It has the awesome drum in the chorusses, but it sounds more friendly than Politik. In the spirit of the album. Really like this one. 14. Up With The Birds: 9/10 Always a bit more excitement while waiting for the closing track of the record. I mean with Everything's Not Lost, Amsterdam, Twisted Logic (/ 'Til Kingdom Come) and Death And All His Friends/The Escapist they have a reputation. With open mouth I listened to Up With The Birds. At first you hear the beautiful lyrics. The almost quiet middle part is breathtaking and when the guitar starts it reminds me of Paul McCartney's Band On The Run. When it was over, I smiled and thought: holy shit, they did it again. In overall I would give Mylo Xyloto a 8/10 and thats more than I had expected me to give it.
  2. I wanna know too! Was reading the 'leak' thread and suddenly everyone had the album it seemed. I was already happy that I had the chance to hear Princess Of China today. Never imagined that I would hear the album today when I woke up this morning.
  3. Still not a fan of Paradise and Major Minus, but I do think Paradise fits on the album. Like it a lot more now.
  4. Now halfway the second listen. Can't wait to hear Up With The Birds again!
  5. Not sure yet. It's a competition between Hurts Like Heaven, Charlie Brown, Princess Of China and Up With The Birds.
  6. THEY F*CKING DID IT! My god, I love this album (thought I wouldn't actually). Highlights: - Mylo Xyloto, which sounded gorgeous, going on to HLH. - Charlie Brown, especially the beautiful piano ending to the ... - ..epic opening of UATW, which is beautiful by the way. - M.M.I.X. is the perfect intro for ETIAW, it really 'builds' something up. - Princess Of China has beautiful lyrics and I'm not lying when I say I think Rihanna did a very good job. I really like this one. - Up In Flames is beautiful, breathtaking. - Don't Let It Break Your Heart sounds to me a bit old school Coldplay. Like it. - The absolute best track on the album is the last one: Up With The Birds. My god, goosebumps all over the place. Brilliant. Beautiful.
  7. Absolutely love this song. My god, just heard it the first time. True, the word is EPIC.:stunned:
  8. Haha, take it easy. You will be mailed soon ;)
  9. Major Minus after ETIAW is not really working for me.
  10. R23 posted a topic in M.M.I.X
What an epic way to lead in ETIAW. Wow, I'm now listening to it like it was the first time I heard it. Love it.
  11. I absolutely love HLH album version. After the epic MX opening (which is even better than live) it really kicks the album in the right direction!
  12. At the end of Charlie Brown. So far so good. Thought the piano at the end of the live versions of the song were just a lead in for Live Is For Living, but I'm glad it made the album. Oh, the beginning of UATW. What an epic guitar..
  13. Gonna listen to it now for this first time. Will be back in 45 minutes!
  14. Thanks so much for the PM's guys. I'm downloading the album as we speak. What a great day!
  15. Damn the board is exploding. Was able to download HLH from a link on someone's Twitter. Can anybody PM me the link of the rar file? Thanks so much in advance. So excited!
  16. I actually like it. The beat is really awesome and Rihanna sounds different. I agree that she has almost the whole song to herself, a bit more Chris wouldn't be that bad. And I'm missing Jonny a bit. But I think it's a mysterious track, way better than Paradise. Hope this will be a single eventually, but I'm not guessing on it. For those who dislike it, I can understand. It's a complete new sound. But I think we have to accept as fans that the days of records like Parachutes and AROBTH are definitive over and this is the 'new' Coldplay. By which I'm not saying that you HAVE to like Mylo Xyloto, btw.
  17. Wow, this is awesome. I absolutely love 3FM, not only for this btw haha!:)
  18. Does anybody know how the sale on the 'black market' (for us Dutchies, Marktplaats for example) is going? My best friend is still looking for tickets but when I just looked some of the prizes were just insane.
  19. I hear Moving To Mars pretty much every day in the supermarket where I work. People are always looking weird when they see me singing along.
  20. I was losing my mind when I heard Chris play the first notes of Shiver and ENL on Werchter. Great memories.
  21. Haha, they cut out all of the new songs. They skipped the opening with MX and Hurts Like Heaven and after In My Place they skipped Major Minus and went on with Lost!
  22. Yellow at Werchter, how amazing. Can't believe I was there in front row!
