  1. It's funny, because I hate the ETIAW cover... ...but I really love this. The only thing I would change is...the background color. It's a tad...yellow for my taste.
  2. Her legs are just...WOW. :shocked2::sneaky::wink3: ... :embarrassed: ... :escaping: ... Did I mention that I love Coldplaying's smilies? :cool:
  3. Haha, no...Hurts Like Heaven is almost assuredly about someone who is toying with the narrator's heart, but he loves every second of the pain because it's better than being ignored.
  4. Dude. Major props. :D
  5. There wasn't a lot of that in X&Y...
  6. Exactly...and if Coldplay feel they can just through THIS incredible track away, the actual album is going to be AMAZING.
  7. Sorry to say this, but Radiohead takes that prize in my book. Their lack of any...well...anything...when they dropped their album (with less than a week's notice AND a day early) was maddening.
  8. Honestly, I never thought he had much of a "touch" to begin with. Lyrics are DEFINITELY not why I listen to Coldplay. That said, Charlie Brown has some of the best lyrics he's written in quite awhile. Edit: The lyrics to A Rush of Blood to the Head are brilliant. Coldplay's best by far.
  9. LP5

They've always talked about putting approximately 9 songs on an album (hasn't happened yet though). Personally, I like albums with fewer, but more brilliant, songs. 9 and 10 are good numbers.
  10. Oasis "borrowed" their entire identity from the Beatles  Doesn't mean they're bad. In fact, they're pretty decent.
  11. I agree (with everything except the "forget the Edge" bit). :P
  12. Dude...it's all opinion. Just because you don't find the song listenable, it doesn't mean someone else is insane for thinking it's beautiful. I think the end of the song is quite uplifting, but I don't call other people insane for not agreeing with me.
  13. I do understand. And it's this point that makes Clocks and many of Coldplay's other songs far better than Every Teardrop...but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the new song, even if it doesn't stand up to their previous releases.
  14. Well, yeah...the artwork for X&Y was brilliant in its simplicity. The album...not as much. I mean, I quite like it, but it's my least favorite of their albums. My ideal X&Y tracklisting would look something like this: Square One White Shadows Fix You Talk X&Y Speed of Sound A Message Low Twisted Logic Till Kingdom Come
  15. 90% of Coldplay b-sides are better than all the songs on X&Y.
  16. I like stripped down and acoustic. HOWEVER, I also love "big" sounds, as you say. And no, I wouldn't say that "big" sounds scream for an immature audience. Heck, look at Arcade Fire! They're one of the best bands out there today, and they have so much going on in their songs that it's ridiculous! Also...stripped down doesn't necessarily mean limited to drums, bass, and acoustic guitar only. If it were...I can understand why people might find that somewhat boring. I wouldn't want an album limited to those instruments alone.
  17. You dare insult me?  Actually, I now have a full novel-like story based on the new songs we have so far (when I hear that something is a concept album, I immediately and automatically build my own stories for it...even if I haven't heard the entire album! :P). Every Teardrop is the final chapter. I may someday type out my story/theory, but for now...I'm too lazy. :P I will tell you though, that in my ideal version of LP5, the songs (so far) would go in this order. 1. Cartoon Heart 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Us Against the World 4. Major Minus 5. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
  18. Thank you. Yes, U2 have changed more times than (I think) Coldplay ever will. As for the prize for "multiple successful and complete changes in sound and style," that would have to go to Radiohead. Listen to Pablo Honey, and then listen to Amnesiac. It's not even the same band. :stunned: Every album has its own sound.
  19. I didn't know Bieber played guitar. :wink3:
  20. I agree. It's not even in my top 20 Coldplay songs. Forget about comparing it to the classics. Like I said...I like the song, but the results of this poll are just embarrassing. Also, I think the OP probably could have picked a better Bob Dylan song than Subterranean Homesick Blues...that's not even considered one of his classics, is it?
  21. Oi. I'm a Coldplay fan and my, and my tastes aren't exactly narrow. Oh, and I enjoy the song. It's fun. :smug:
  22. DLIBYH Don't Lie, I Believe You're Honest. :smug: I got nothing. :embarrassed:
  23. In My Place is the worst song on AROBTTH. It's boring. There is NOTHING good about the lyrics. The riff is fun at first, but get's really old by the end. Coldplay's second weakest single, behind What If.

Oops. :embarrassed: Wasn't in the band index.

I can't believe they haven't been discussed yet. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is one of my top five albums of the 2000's (possibly one of the top three). I haven't listened to much of their other stuff yet, but I certainly need to get around to it. What do you guys think?
