Hai guys! Long time no Internet-chat :D

DLIBYH
:wideeyed: This! DLIBYH and UWtB need to be about 2 minutes longer :dazzled:

Lyrics?!
I think you've nailed it, except for that one bit that I highlighted--I think it may be 'My arms to wings' instead ;)

Acoustic versions of songs
And we got a piano version of The Hardest Part on LRLRL, otherwise I think that's all of them. As for acoustic songs this era, I'd like to hear a simple piano version of Paradise and Hurts Like Heaven (and maybe PoC, although I'm not sure it would work too well).

[Review] NME Rates Mylo Xyloto 5/10 [Scan added Pg. 3]
:laugh4: Isn't it just a list of their most successful singles?

Chris Martin on a unicycle

Princess Of China, next single!
Not surprised by this  Why do a collaboration with a prominent pop-artist if they weren't planning on releasing it as a single? I'm just excited for b-sides :wacky:

Paradise *OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO!* (Youtube Video In First Post, plus 1-10 elephant poll))
:wacky: This just made my day! It was almost silly, but I really, really like it! And who knew Chris could ride a unicycle? :awesome:

Flight to Madrid Butterfly Project - Post yours!
It won't let me enter my information

Am I the only person totally in love with DLIBYH?
Everything after UIF is :dazzled: And UIF itself is pretty good in every way except the drum beat (which is a bit annoying).

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
Now that I've listened to it all the way through several times, I think my final verdict is a 5-6 :disappointed: Believe me, I don't want to say that MX is Coldplay's worst album yet . . . but it is. I don't know if it's the layers upon layers of synths, or the lyrics, or the fact that I heard half the album before it dropped, (maybe a combination?) but there's just something about it that I don't like :\ Here's to hoping we get some quality b-sides (for the love of God, we'd better hear those 'luminous' lyrics at some point :freak: That's all I ask!) or a nice EP.

Song rollout effecting enjoyment?
I am enjoying DLIBYH and UWtB very much right now--but I think that's because they're loads better than the other songs (except for the studio version of UAtW)

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
Okay, I thought MX would grow on me after the first few listens, but it hasn't :wtf: I think it's dropped down to a 6/10 :disappointed: Maybe I'm just in a bad mood or something . . . That and I'm annoyed that Rihanna hogged the spotlight in PoC. But I stand firm in my A-Hopeful-Transmission-Don't-Let-It-Break-Your-Heart-and-Up-With-the-Birds-are-amazing viewpoint

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
lol, Tryptophan, why do you and I always agree on everything? :P Although I do have to say that I like the vocal effects in Major Minus (yes; the live version is still better, if only because the guitar echoes are pretty freaking amazing). I still don't care for Paradise and ETiaW--but they do sound loads better when listened to in the album context, so kudos to the guys for picking a tracklisting that works well. The studio version of UAtW is beautiful, Up In Flames isn't bad (except for that annoying drum beat :P), U.F.O. is too short, they didn't include those amazing 'luminous' lyrics (boo), and I'm in love with the last three tracks . . . but unfortunately this may wind up being my least favorite of Coldplay's albums. :\ I just hope it isn't their last. :uhoh:

Favorite little moments on Mylo Xyloto?
- The intro and bassline entrance of UAtW :dazzled: - The 'I hear those crocodiles ticking . . .' bit in Major Minus - The 'oohhhhhh' in the background during the last verse of Charlie Brown - The transition from M.M.I.X. to ETiaW; I don't really care for either song, but the buildup is epic - That you can hear Chris plucking the guitar strings in U.F.O. and the way he sings 'go' - The piano in Up In Flames - The intro and bass-drop in Princess of China :wacky: - Transition between AHT and DLIBYH (and DLIBYH in general) - Ending of UWtB
-
Blown away...
I was one of the few people that didn't like the live version of UAtW at all :P But the studio version blows it out of the water. It's amazing, especially the intro :wacky: Plus, it reminds me a bit of See You Soon
-
2 different songs?
It does sound like it could be two separate songs, doesn't it? :P Like a mix between Christmas Lights / Wedding Bells and Death And All His Friends
-
How does the album work as a concept record?
^ Pretty much this

Rate DON'T LET IT BREAK YOUR HEART poll!
Hmm . . . It sounds like a cross between Rainy Day and Glass Of Water--I like it :D I only wish I could hear Chris better  Plus, the lyrics aren't bad at all!

Biggest Disappointment and Surprise of Mylo Xyloto
Surprise: DLIBYH and UAtW--I really didn't like the live version of UAtW, but the studio version is heavenly :wacky: PoC (and Rihanna's vocal part) is way better than I expected ETiaW and Paradise sound much better in the context of the album Disappointment: Chris' voice sounds . . . off, on some of the tracks. I can't really explain it, but there's a few songs where it seems like he doesn't quite hit the note. I could've done with a bit less production

First Impressions of Mylo Xyloto (and vote in the 1-10 sliding scale poll!)
Those don't count because one's drowned in synths and the other has about 30 seconds of glory :P
-
Which singer would you have chosen to do Princess of China's female vocal?
Okay, I take back what I said about not wanting Rihanna in on the song. She sounds far better than I expected  Kudos to her, and kudos to the guys for finding an excellent female vocal fit.

The PROS & CONS of "Princess of China" (plus 1-10 sliding poll)
Pros: - Rihanna actually works very well in this song -MY GOD THAT SYNTH -MY GOD THAT BASS Cons: - Needs moar Chris (in the 'You could be a princess' verse) and less Rihanna -Chris should have sung the 'Ohohoh' bits, or at least harmonized with Ri (I can barely hear him) -The epic score of this song would have shot through the roof if there had been a Jonny-riff coupled with the synth-drop and a full-band 'ohohoh' instead of just a Ri 'ohohoh' ---- But an unexpectedly good song overall :D

Rate US AGAINST THE WORLD studio poll!
Wow. Back when we had nothing but live versions of this song, I really didn't care for it at all. It was my least favorite of all the new songs. But now I have to say that it's one of my favorites :wacky: The organ adds so much emotional depth to it. At least a solid 8, maybe even a 9

Am I the only person totally in love with DLIBYH?
I have to say that my expectations weren't very high for this song, but I think it's one of my favorites off the album now :D
