The Tracklisting
I think the album will focus largely on the graffiti/youth theme in total. There might be a couple songs from the space theme but I think they make it mostly due to them being good finished songs rather than fitting in with the main album theme.

Hurts Like Heaven
I had a much stronger initial reaction to Charlie Brown but the more and more I listen to Hurts Like Heaven it's closing the gap fast. I still think I prefer Charlie Brown, but this is a great great song. Of the new material i've heard, I'd rank them: Charlie Brown Hurts Like Heaven Every Teardrop is a Waterfall Moving to Mars Us Against the World Major Minus

Does Charlie Brown sound different??
Or he is just so used to doing that in concert that he did it at the end again, or he was so jet lagged he forgot he didn't need to do it. I'm in the "it's the intro for LiFL" camp.

We still want Wedding Bells!
You're just listening to the lyrics. There are several themes on the piano that were incorporated into Christmas Lights. Consider this song "canabalized".

Charlie Brown Music Video

I like it much better than what they wore during the Viva tour. Never really cared for the pseudo military/revolutionary look.- The Tracklisting
I did 3 besides MX, since it appears to only be 30-40 seconds, otherwise, same number as Viva Yes/Chinese Sleep Chant Lovers in Japan/Reign of Love Death and All His Friends/The Escapist And really The Escapist is also tied in with Life in Technicolor so you could say Viva had 4. Personally, I'd have them all separated out but the Band seems to like doing this for some stupid reason. On my computer I even separated Viva out into all it's component pieces and resisted the track and burnt the album that way. Just think of it this way: 1. MX 2. Hurts Like Heaven 3. Up in Flames 4. Major Minus 5. Alien Radio 6. UFO 7. Tomorrow 8. Charlie Brown 9. Us Against the World 10. Paradise 11. Princess of China 12. Mylo Xyloto 13. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall 14. A Hopeful Transmission- The Tracklisting
1. MX/Hurts Like Heaven 2. Up in Flames 3. Major Minus 4. Alien Radio/UFO 5. Tommorrow 6. Charlie Brown 7. Us Against the World/Paradise 8. Princess of China 9. Mylo Xyloto 10. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall/A Hopeful Transmission [/THREAD]- Unbelievable cover
That process listed above works for anything on YouTube, so there you go. If you need to edit it at all you can use Audacity, which is also Freeware- I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
I'm starting to think it will just be called MX. The third album was just X&Y so why not MX?- Unbelievable cover
You can download the video from youtube via realplayer and then use realconverter to rip the audio to a mp3 file (or AoA Audio Extractor)- Is Charlie Brown THE BEST Coldplay song...EVER??
If Charlie Brown, Hurts Like Heaven and ETIAW all make it then this would probably make it my 3rd favorite album of theirs at worst. While A Rush of Blood to the Head has more songs I like better, Viva flows much better as an album for me, which is why it's my favorite of theirs. It sounds like this album is going to have a fairly consistent sound and theme (and loud and quiet songs can still sound similar and have similar themes), but that is speculation as I have yet to hear 80+% of it.- Guess LP5 title
Fart Noises If I had to pick from that poll i'd go with 'Golden Arrow' or 'A Hopefull Transmission'- What will be the next single from LP5 (MYLO XYLOTO?)
I could really care less what the album is titled. Would 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' be any worse of an album if it was titled 'Fart Noises'?- What I Believe To Be Included On LP5
Agreed, i'm fine with people liking a potential name, but let's at least hear what it sounds like before making a judgement good or bad.- Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
The Monday morning reference is about people going to concerts/clubs/rave/whatever on the weekends before going back to another part of their life on Monday, be it school, work or some other obligation. The song is about getting lost in the music, that phrase is one of the key lyrics in the song. Living in the music, in the moment.- Rate 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' now!
You must hate the better part of the Viva album too if you thought these lyrics were bad, they make more sense than the better part of the last album. The drum solo ending would work much better if it was used in the middle of a live show and actually led into a 60-90 second drum solo by Will. I can agree being anti-climactic to close a show or an album. Perhaps Will may get a short drum solo track (or hidden track) on LP5? What I think would work really well in a live show is ETIAW with a 60-90 second drum solo by Will that ends with him transitioning into the start of In My Place.- 'Up In Flames' - A Last Minute Idea
That's kind of what I was thinking. I love upbeat rock songs that utilize the piano- 'Up In Flames' - A Last Minute Idea
To be fair, what would they say "They played a new song they wrote 18 hours ago, totally album filler" That said, I like the title, we'll have to wait and see how it turns out.- What will be the next single from LP5 (MYLO XYLOTO?)
The people that watch the concerts online, go to the concerts and post on sites such as this one is not who the record is going to be marketed too. It's already assumed we are all going to get the album, they will market it to the general public, which is why I doubt they use a new song, unless Up in Flames turns out to be a classic. Charlie Brown is a tailor made radio hit, Hurts Like Heaven doesn't feel as anthemic to me and for all we know Car Kids is 5 minutes of them hitting a car with their instruments (although I doubt that it is) Strawberry Swing is a cool name too but it is my lest favorite tune on Viva. Point is, the next single is likely going to be the most marketable song, because in the end, this is still a business, or else they'd be giving away the music for free and charging $10 for their concerts.- What will be the next single from LP5 (MYLO XYLOTO?)
ETIAW was the first single, at least I think it was, just like Violet Hill was before Viva came out- 'Up In Flames' - A Last Minute Idea
I don't really get why some people think it will sound like a different song they have already made because one of the circumstances is similar.- What will be the next single from LP5 (MYLO XYLOTO?)
Charlie Brown It's already being featured as one of the closing songs before the encore, right after Viva La Vida. The band obviously love it and it's had a huge positive fan reaction.- Is Charlie Brown THE BEST Coldplay song...EVER??
I ripped the audio to make my own Glastonbury Live album- Oracle says MX "isn't" a track!
I think in the end MX just gets tied into HLH and it becomes just the one track to open the album because it really works as a live show opener. - New Era Clothing
