I NEED THIS ON MY WALL. (If you wake in the morning and it's not there, assume it's me. :D)

7 from Pitchfork ? This is an historic event
Whether it deserves a 7 or not (which it so does, stop moaning), I'd like to see that Metacritic rating shoot up. So I'd take a 7 gladly.

Mystery Lyrics..
Course it doesn't. I've always thought Car Kids sounds like an Arcade Fire song anyway...

Mystery Lyrics..
I know this will rile a few people because MX is only just out, but I really hope there is a Car Kids EP in the style of Prospekt's March. I just want more.

If Moving To Mars Was On MX...
It's not a good album opener. At all. It's a decent song, but I think they were right to keep it off MX.

Princess of China: Worst Coldplay song ever?
I think the Rihanna thing's the third reason here. But your main reason is that it's synthy and it's poorly written.

Hows MX? Im not feeling the reviews
The great thing about the modern world, and illegal downloading (and this perhaps the only great thing tbh) is that you can listen to an album before you buy it, whether that's Spotify, torrenting or what. I suggest you get it somehow over the internet, give it a chance, and decide for yourself if you like it. British newpaper The Guardian gave Kid A one and a half out of five when it came out; they're not always right.

This is not a Coldplay song.
Coldplay wrote it. Coldplay sing it. Coldplay play it. Just because it's a duet, doesn't mean it's not a Coldplay song. It sounds different, yes, but it's still a Coldplay song.

PoC Single - B Sides (Yes or No)
I think the song works really well as a duet, but I am intrigued to hear what it sounds like, Rihannaless. I don't think we'll get it though. Hands up who wanted Thom Yorke to duet on it?

The Yellow/Clocks/Fix You/Viva La Vida of this album?
Charlie Brown is the hit. I know why they're releasing Princess of China but in my opinion, they should released Charlie Brown instead of Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall.

I just can't like it? I love ETIAW, Paradise but........
I really liked it up until about halfway through Rihanna's part. It needs some kind of discernible chorus for me. But then I've only listened through once. The part about about the star was utterly unnecessary. 7/10 I reckon.

HAVE IT!!! (AKA the 'I just got my Mylo Xyloto' thread!)
I love this guy's comments, and this is perhaps my favourite.

Your 'Best of Coldplay' Album
I just think it represents everything that's bad about that album. X Factor winner's single production, terrible, terrible lyrics, the whole build, the fact it has no visible hook or draw to listen to it... You wanna take anything from that album, make it Fix You or White Shadows.

Mylo Xyloto funny stories.
Not exactly Mylo Xyloto, but my dad misheard Princess of China for Princess Va, well you can guess.
- so... no car kids??

Banksy link
Wikipedia: Despite their worldwide popularity, the band has remained protective of how their music is used in the media, refusing its use for product endorsements. In the past, Coldplay turned down multi-million dollar contracts from Gatorade, Diet Coke, and Gap, who wanted to use the songs "Yellow", "Trouble", and "Don't Panic" respectively. According to frontman, Chris Martin, "We wouldn't be able to live with ourselves if we sold the songs' meanings like that."

Banksy link
Obviously this album has a strong graffiti theme, but could there perhaps be a link between Mylo Xyloto and Banksy? On the inside of the CD, the words "Tonight the streets are ours" can be seen. Tonight The Streets Are Ours is a song by Richard Hawley, featured in Banksy's film, Exit Through the Gift Shop. Other than that, both Banksy and MX share a strong anti-oppression theme. Coldplay are famously anti-consumerism - not letting companies use their songs - so it'd be no surprise if they respected Banksy, who stands for the same things. What do we think? Can we see any other para para... parallels? Relation to Paradise? Relation to Major Minus?

[Article] Can Coldplay save rock 'n' roll?
Coldplay aren't, and never will be, the saviours of rock. But the state of the genre is as depressing as it is worrying.

Your 'Best of Coldplay' Album
Why Swallowed in the Sea would dare show itself on a Best Of is beyond my comprehension.

MYLO XYLOTO: My Review
I think you're spot on, you know what you're talking about and you're really good at understanding what us as the fans want, which is something most reviewers don't do. But I would say that to improve your reviewing, you could try to not so much describe what is happening in the song (ie, "epic guitar solos mixed in with a high-pitched synth") and explain more the feeling that it gives you; Hurts Like Heaven for example, explain how it's quite Arcade Fire in its chug, it's euphoric, etc. Other than that, well done. Better than the NME review, that's for sure!

Has anyone ever done this?
I've done it with Muse. It feels like one long soundtrack to something.
