  1. Sounds like Glasvegas's second album. :D
  2. Yeah, I think it's the bass. Wasn't it the bassist in Radiohead who does the same thing before the chorus in 'Creep'?
  3. Or they meant out now on Mylo Xyloto.
  4. I'm pretty sure the end lyrics are 'So we soar / oh, an innocent riot / We'll be glowing in the dark'. Deffo sure the last 2 lines are right.
  5. Yes. Different mood, similar structure. Even with a little synthy part at the end... :D
  6. Twisted Logic, the most epic song nobody remembers, not even the band according to their live shows! :P
  7. I think this is actually MX's 'The Escapist' to Don't Let It Break Your Heart's 'Death And All His Friends'- like how on X&Y, Twisted Logic is the big ending song, and 'Til Kingdom Come is after the end. I reckon UWTB could've been a hidden track after DLIBYH if the album had been constructed differently.
  8. To be fair I think Charlie Brown pretty much runs off of the bassline, just like Clocks- among other songs. I think Guy Berryman also plays some of the keyboard parts.
  9. Yeah, how are they going to do that whole middle part of the song without Rihanna? Animation? Stock footage?
  10. Because it isn't a song, it's part of the loose story of the album, like Major Minus Media.
  11. I think Hurts Like Heaven could have an amazing video if it is released as a single. All that 80s and disco influence... like, the band performing in a desert, with lasers all over the ground and dry ice... Yeeeeeah!
  12. According to the XFM talk-through, it's the sighs. Possibly from a Queen song?
  13. Chris said in an interview they tried using Takk as the background synths for another song in VLV, but then decided against it. Am I the only one thinking that that song was Prospekt's March? The quiet synths in the background in the first section sound like they were going for a similar effect to this intro track, and the sound would tie in with that of 'Poppyfields' at the end of the song, the same sonic thread.
  14. Is there something wrong with Jonny's guitar? Sounds like the speakers are a little blown or something. :/
  15. Best single? Charlie Brown. Best song? Hurts Like Heaven.
  16. I agree that it doesn't sound like Coldplay, but I think as a song it isn't too bad. In fact, it sounds how I'd imagine a Gorillaz track Feat. Chris Martin and Rihanna would go. Circa Demon Days-Plastic Beach
  17. I know what you guys mean. Agreed, tho the ending / 'all the boys, all the girls' parts on Charlie Brown are WAY more epic on the studio version than live. I think they just sorta swapped the emphasis so it was 'light a fire...' that was epic moment live, while the energy appears a little later on in the studio version.
  18. A Rush Of Blood To The Head may not have all good songs (think Daylight, Green Eyes, A Whisper) but I think it's the most 'skilled' album as a whole. Whereas VLV for example has fantastic individual songs but they're more catchy and memorable than complicated or cohesive in the album.
  19. Not being slammed by me :) I think the mixed reception is probably because of just how jarring the transition was between styles- listen to Viva La Vida, Prospekt's March, even Christmas Lights... to go from the whole smart and tidy French Revolution thing and then suddenly GRAFFITI COLOUR PAINT HAPPY was probably just a bit too much for half of people!
  20. For the general public -Coldplay fans, I think Paradise is going to stick in people's heads; a good thing or a bad thing I'll leave up to you to decide. But the big, big song will be Charlie Brown, with Hurts Like Heaven coming in a close second if it's released as a single. (I don't know if HLH will be a single, bits of it just don't seem radio friendly enough even though I love it)
  21. The HMV in Ipswich ain't running out of copies anytime soon. Bought mine :D
  22. Definitely something along those lines. Sounds like 'please hold' music.
  23. 1. I Ran Away 2. The Goldrush 3. No More Keeping My Feet On The Ground 4. Gravity 5. A Spell A Rebel Yell
  24. I think it differs depending on speakers just how much you can hear Will; I recorded the iTunes stream and I can barely hear the backing vocals on my iPod, yet on my laptop Will sounds almost as loud as Chris. :/ But yeah, awesome song. I think the album will have the guitar echo, though, to fade into MMIX.
