ELIMINATION #5: MYLO XYLOTO
This!!! That click track is one of the most annoying things Coldplay have ever done! And I rarely hate anything, let alone anything from Coldplay... :P But hearing that first click makes me skip straight through to the next song. It's so discordant, hearing that click track, them CM singing his heart out with so much emotion, ugh! My vote for Up In Flames again.

First Coldplay Song/Album?
That would be rare, for a male to take up that name :D But your guess is right, I'm a she... Not too surprising there :) In saying that I'm surprised at who's turned out to be which gender... I've had a few surprises so far :laugh3:

Interesting how it's pretty unanimous - Up In Flames vs Princess of China... They are pretty much my two top picks of the album (to eliminate) :laugh3: Unfortunately my first pick goes to... Up In Flames! GO BURNNNNNN.......

^ Yeah, one has Chris singing, the other is pure instrumental... You can find it on YouTube, and the album itself (at least the tracks with singing) is pretty good too! :)

Who else has never seen Coldplay live before ?
Yes there will be lots of classic moments, absolutely, have faith! There's a good reason why they didn't tour GS, they knew there would be less sing-along concert moments / chances to directly connect with the audience... I've been to 2 of their concerts, Twisted Logic and MX tours... Believe me when I reassure you that Coldplay really plan out their concerts to be as inclusive and enjoyable as possible for the fans... Witness the large yellow balls, confetti, fireworks, moving graphics, lasers, changing stages, Xylobands, tons of singalongs etc. over the years! These all cost the band money that they could have kept for themselves, but the reason they've added all these touches is to have a bit of magic and uniqueness thrown in for everybody in the crowd to experience. :D And they keep looking at ways to improve the concert experience for us! Once AHFOD starts touring hopefully you'll pick up some enthusiasm to attend one... Which one would be your nearest venue?

Radiohead
It's not that hard though... (to get up Thom Yorke's nose) :laugh3:

Sorry, I'm gonna hafta be another one who voices love for Chris' deep voice... I've always felt it was under-utilised, and that he uses far too much of his almost-whiney falsetto voice *runs away* :escaping2: I think Where Is My Boy and Your Love Means Everything with Faultline are one of his best vocal performances... That sparse instrumentation really highlights his voice, particularly the rawness and vulnerability of his earlier years - it made me sit up and take notice of his singing, and personally I would love to hear more of his lower vocal range :)

^ :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3: Really great quality of reporting by Consequence of Sound! Got me real excited for a minute there... :laugh3: :laugh3: :laugh3:

ELIMINATION #4: VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS
Sorry, but me too! There goes my theory about whether girls like MX more than guys and vice versa with AROBTTH  Always dangerous to generalize, I know :P

Who else has never seen Coldplay live before ?
Don't give up hope, go to one - you won't regret it ;) Even if you like Oldplay and think Newplay are meh, the atmosphere is so special and joy in the audience nothing like you've ever experienced before... There is something so moving about a stadium full of 100,000 all moving together as one and singing together 'and I will tryyyy to fix youuuu!!!' or every single word of Yellow. Cheesiness has a way of evaporating when that many people unite as one in a single moment. You may even come to appreciate the purpose of albums like MX - the first half was designed to go in tandem with a concert experience I'm sure :)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Some fans have been giving the band a lot of schtick about their EDM direction of late. Does anyone think they might combine it with their Oldplay tuneful guitar sound and come up with music that sounds like Amnesiac and Hail To The Theif-era tunes for AHFOD? Guy and Will have come a long way and are lately sounding like they've reached early 2000's Radiohead, the band have been trying electronic flourishes and we've been moaning about the loss of their guitar tunes / old atmospheric sounds... I think it would be great! They'd of course sound happier and hopeful rather than Radiohead's doom and gloom/ angry snarls :D

ELIMINATION #4: VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS
Death And All His Friends. Never liked it that much, I would have voted it over GoW but came in too late to vote... GoW was gone by then. Sorry @I Ran Away, I'm afraid I can't #save PoC :laugh3:

ELIMINATION #4: VIVA LA VIDA OR DEATH AND ALL HIS FRIENDS
Sorry, tough call, but I vote Glass of Water

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
^ I love Shiver but there are so many other favs off Parachutes... We Never Change, Don't Panic, Trouble... It doesn't represent the full scope of the album but VLV certainly signaled a new direction for that album. And in terms of style and sound, I think it is the most radio-friendly representative song of the album although Violet Hill comes close too

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
All the lead singles are good songs and often represent the album well, but none of them are my favourite songs from their respective albums... In My Place and VLV are the ones that come closest!
