The last few sure are taking awhile... When I started this thread I did it with the expectation that we would reach this number within a day or two, particularly with a reasonable chance that Coldplay might release some new material lol... It's now 4 days later and there's still a few to go

:laugh3: @ prefering Bach @beastwars Personally I think comparing CP vs RH to Avicii vs Bach is a little harsh. Its probably more like Bach vs Handel or Chopin vs Mozart... Or Lady Gaga vs Avicii if we're setting the bar low :rolleyes: I think RH are technically superior (no surprises there) but CP more than make up for it with their earnestness, accessibility, attention to detail and beauty (as opposed to RH's often seething / paranoid underbelly). I appreciate RH as the band to go to if I feel like challenging myself or expanding musical boundaries, but CP are my staple band for good, dependable music that's not too difficult to digest at the end of a long day at work... They're comfort food for the soul and help keep me happy, centred, grounded and more at peace with the world so I can get up the next morning and "look forward" to doing it all again

Hello... Glad you finally decided to join our little community here :) I do think the album will be a bit longer, just based on their previous track record- they're never early / on-time with their albums :D

Maybe last minute change of plans following feedback on Amazing Day (us not rating it)... they might have taken some criticisms on board and decided to delay original plans for release to tweak things further? Or maybe they will do something similar to MX and start playing the new songs before releasing the album but start the tour a few months ahead first this time?

Currently about 20 active posters right now? Plenty more viewing but non-posting members - there are probably a number of thoughtful fans that don't post if they don't feel they have much to say / contribute to discussion... Numbers will easily swell to a couple of hundred at least once the album / a single gets released... Don't forget people like me who've been around intermittently for a good number of years - we converge around album time / other lulls in our life then lie dormant again :D I'm like that old musty smell that just won't leave the room no matter how much you try to ignore it... :laugh3: Btw, were you getting your coat to leave, or to keep warm in the empty space left by the ghosts of members past and future? :sneaky: Here, let me help you... :wink3:

People, Coldplay are with a major label and are a huge band. They will either use the publicity machine that comes with it, i.e. release information to traditional media eg music mags, radio, etc such as demos of any new single / album along with a release date and reviews prior to actually releasing it... Or they might drop a surprise single ala Midnight. Personally given that they've identified themselves that AHFOD is a major release, I am doubtful they will go the surprise drop route, although they could conceivably do it for one song... So I think we may have to wait some more.

It's a start... Although you'd think we'd have long got there by now ;) Looks like we'll have self-driving cars before flying ones...
