  1. I don't believe this for a second. They've got tons and tons of unreleased material, and the band have said for the last few months that they're simply taking a break. From the news archive at ateaseweb.com: Parrots Nest II or the the end of Radiohead... Update: just for the people who don't know about Parrots Nest. Parrots Nest was the biggest hoax ever. And this is most likely version 2. Do not take this too seriously. Please read the news from the past few days and you'll see that Radiohead haven't decided on their future yet, but they're just on a break.
  2. I use SoulSeek for music and Kazaa Lite++ for everything else. SoulSeek almost never lets me down.
  3. exactly. Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Kevin Spacey to name just a few are all absolutely sublime actors. But one time or another, they've been in some pretty bad movies. You have to remember they can only work with what they've been given - if the screenplay is bad, and the cinematographer and director haven't got a clue, their performance is going to look horrendous. Another point is that a brilliant director can make a bad actor look amazing. Scorcese did it with Sharon Stone in Casino. Tarantino did it with Tim Roth in Reservoir Dogs and Uma Thurman in Kill Bill & Pulp Fiction. Sam Mendes did it with Mena Suvari in American Beauty. Of course, if you are a truly terrible actor, you have no hope of ever making a good movie.
  4. The Cooper Temple Clause - 555-4823 (See This Through And Leave) Jeff Buckley - Corpus Christi Carol (Grace) Manic Street Preachers - Kevin Carter (Everything Must Go) Oasis - The Girl In The Dirty Shirt (Be Here Now)
  5. His death really was such a terrible tragedy. He really was a musical genius, with perhaps one of the most perfect voices you could ever hope for. I think it's a huge shame that not enough people have heard his music. Whenever I mention him to someone they just look puzzled and say "Oh right... so who's Jeff Buckley?" It really does irritate me sometimes.
  6. no you're not. I also can't stand him one bit. he really is pure complete shit. Apart from those mentioned, I'd say Carrie Anne Moss, Charlie Sheen, and Val Kilmer, are all really fucking terrible. THere are more, but I can't think of them right now. I don't agree with mimi on Brad Pitt though. I think he's pretty good. He's simply awesome in Fight Club.
  7. I have several, but i can't be arsed to upload anything at the moment. I've got a recording of the Stairway to Heaven solo somewhere. I'll upload it when I get the time. Anyway, yes the pain in your fingers is frustrating at first. I nearly gave up trying to learn after a few days because my fingers were in so much pain. But you get used to it after a few weeks... honest. After 4 years of playing I can now stick a pin into my fingertips on my left hand and not feel a thing.
  8. The Mars Volta - Televators Just as he hit the ground They lowered a tow That stuck in his neck to the gills Fragments of sobiquets Riddle me this: Three half-eaten corneas Who hit the area Stalk the ground Stalk the ground You should have seen the curse that flew right by you Page of concrete, stained walks crutch in hobbled sway Autodafe, a capulary hint of red Only this manupod crescent in shape has escaped The house half the way Fell empty with teeth That split both his lips mark these words One day this chalk outline will circle this city Was he robbed of the asphalt that cushioned his face? A room colored charlatan Hid in a safe Stalk the ground Stalk the ground You should have seen the curse that flew right by you Page of concrete, stain walks crutch in hobbled sway Autodafe, a capulary hint of red Only this manupod crescent in shape has escaped Pull the pins Save your grace Mark these words On his grave You should have seen the curse that flew right by you Page of concrete, stain walks crutch in hobbled sway Autodafe, a capulary hint of red Everyone knows the last toes are always the coldest to go
  9. Curry looks like vomit, but Christ it's wonderful!
  10. The Mars Volta - Drunkship Of Lanterns
  11. Top 5 Things To Do With Your Fingers 1. Move peanuts away from eyes when sleeping in the grounds of a KP factory. 2. Smear the words 'I will kill again' on to the wall following your latest murder. 3. Offer to a friend to smell after you have fingered a trout. 4. Test temperature of porridge (if you are a bear). 5. Apply false eyelashes to a duck.
  12. same here. ain't no doubt about it!
  13. I've never liked them. in fact, i can't stand them. they're probably one of my least favourite bands
  14. I don't understand why they're advertising it as "Black Friday". For some reason they seem to think that the last episode of Friends followed by the live opening of Big Brother 5 is somehow classed as being EVIL in some way  anyway, i will be watching Friends, but definitely not Big Brother. I'm sick of it.
  15. I particularly enjoy listening to Debussy (Clair de Lune, Arabesque, L'apres Midi d'un Faune), but also enjoy a few others such as Satie, Shostakovich, Mozart and plenty more. Although my main instrument is the electric guitar, I did A level music so I'm classically trained in music theory. Sadly, I can safey say if I didn't do A level music then I probably wouldn't listen to classical music at all. Still however, the vast majority of what I listen to isn't classical, but I do enjoy it and I entirely agree that more people should listen to it.
  16. Oasis - Half The World Away I would like to leave this city This old town don't smell too pretty and I can feel the warning signs Running around my mind And if I could leave this island I'd book myself into a soul asylum Cos I can feel the warning signs Running around my mind So here I go I'm still scratching around in the same old hole My body feels young but my mind is very old So what do you say? You can't give me the dreams that are mine anyway You're half the world away I've been lost I've been found But I don't feel down And if I could leave this planet You know I'd stay but I just can't stand it and I can feel the warning signs Running around my mind And if I could leave this spirit I'd find me a hole and I'd live in it and I can feel the warning signs Running around my mind So here I go I'm still scratching around in the same old hole My body feels young but my mind is very old So what do you say? You can't give me the dreams that are mine anyway You're half the world away I've been lost I've been found But I don't feel down No I don't feel down I don't feel down I don't feel down I don't feel down I don't feel down

  18. yeah, no problem. here it is... from the official HTTT tab book (copy it into notepad): (with heavy distortion) G|-------------------------------------------------------- D|--------------------------------------------/9--/10----- A|-10--\7--/9--\5---/7----\3---/5---\2--/3---------------- E|-------------------------------------------------------- G|-------------------------------------------------------- D|--------------------------------------------/12--\7--/9- A|-10--\7--/9--\5---/7----\12---/10---\7--/3-------------- E|-------------------------------------------------------- that's about it. not very hard.
  19. hmm, it's likely to just be the tabs of the studio versions of the songs, rather than transcriptions of the live versions. most tab books of live recordings work like this  i guess it's worth buying if you don't have both the Parachutes and Rush Of Blood books, but I wouldn't buy it just for some "official" tabs to One I Love, See You Soon and Moses.
  20. 1. Radiohead 2. Oasis 3. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club 4. Jeff Buckley 5. The Mars Volta (EDIT: changed 5 from Coldplay to The Mars Volta)
  21. Skinned Alive replied to Sternly's topic in The Lounge
