  1. Mixtape Exchange #17 [Mixtapes Due In For 18/4] I guess I'll say my interests too. Anything not metal, rap, hip-hop, or country is fine with me. I like everything from peaceful acoustic guitar and piano music to electronic-y chiptune stuff like Owl City to postrock stuff like Explosions in the Sky or Sigur Rós
  2. I read it last year. It wasn't that bad actually
  3. Ghoststories, the ghost of Steve Jobs is sending you subliminal massages. That's why the album is called Ghost Stories. EDIT: I meant messages, but massages works too
  4. That actually wasn't too bad...
  5. I have an important exam tomorrow! (AP Chemistry final exam thing!) Wish me luck, I'm gonna get started on a "normal"-length night's sleep now, so I guess this is just more of me stopping in to say that I'm leaving...
  6. Ooh, my specialty. You were so absorbed in your book that your in attentiveness causes you to ignore the job you were supposed to do. You work at the local nuclear power plant and don't notice that the coolant pipes had a leak, leading the reactor to overheat and explode, turning the entire area around [wherever you live] into a radioactive wasteland. The radiation is spread through the air through wind currents and such, causing mass death due to radiation exposure. I leave my gum on the underside of a seat at a theater.
  7. This is harder than I thought. I guess I should just put songs that I like and hope that the person I was assigned likes them too, rather than stalking their posts to find some hint toward the types of music they like, haha
  8. I found this on twitter. I didn't exactly LOL though, it was more of a halfway laugh and a question about the guy's sanity. "what, do you think i'm a horse? oh, i thought you said first of HAY! ah, ah, ah #farmingmemes #agriculture #arableland"
  9. "Hardcore will never die, but you will" —Mogwai It really isn't that hardcore though?
  10. I like the tune a whole freakin' lot, and Chris's description of the meaning really resonates with what I've been going through lately.
  11. New revised coldplaying alphabet: now with bonus r! That's two rs for the price of one, folks! :laugh3:
  12. "meet me again in the Rain" (from oceans)
  13. wampa (the big white yeti thing from Star Wars episode 5)
  14. leather
  15. Well, it appears that this didn't happen, unfortunately. That sucks, I was looking forward to another track.
  16. I will admit that it got a snicker out of me, though. :)
  17. ¡Dalé! or whatever he says
  18. I'm gonna give it an 8 just to escape your wrath
  19. Did you know that there's actually a Wikipedia page about it?
  20. Do you know the rules and everything?
  21. Dylan, USA, I absolutely adore the balance between the rock-influenced songs and the more somber songs. :) side note: awesome idea! EDIT: oh, it appears I took the "two or three lines" thing a bit more literally than you others, haha
  22. Would anyone like to play questions?
  23. Explosions in the Sky :dazzled:
  24. The temp is nice today, but it's raining really hard. Imagine the ocean falling from the sky. That's basically what it is. (As I type this, we went under an "aerial flood advisory" THIS SHIT IS DROWNING THE AIRPLANES)
  25. I've been listening to a lot of postrock/instrumental stuff lately, and a lot of it is really sad. Explosions in the Sky, Sigur Rós, The Album Leaf, and Goldmund I would especially recommend to people looking for mellow-ish sad-ish background music. EDIT: here are some lyrics (I guess you could call them that) from Explosion's Have You Passed Through This Night? This great evil — where'd it come from? How'd it steal into the world? What seed, what root did it grow from? Who's doing this? Who's killing us, robbing us of life and light, mocking us with the sight of what we might've known? Does our ruin benefit the earth, does it help the grass to grow or the sun to shine? Is this darkness in you, too? Have you passed through this night?
