  1. Ho ho hello: Shopping centre Santa sacked for taking a call on his mobile in front of children By Daily Mail Reporter Last updated at 12:00 AM on 08th December 2008 Comments (20) Add to My Stories On their magical annual visit to his grotto, children expect to find Santa ready with a cheery greeting, a booming laugh and a neatly-wrapped gift. They certainly don’t expect him to be on his mobile phone to the JobCentre. Which is why 53-year-old Mike O’Donagh was told to hand back his robes and beard and leave the shopping centre in disgrace. Mike O'Donagh, pictured with his phone, was sacked because he answered a call from Jobcentre ab…

Sir Terry Wogan is stepping down as commentator on the Eurovision Song Contest after three decades. Fellow Irishman Graham Norton will take over for the 2009 contest, which will be hosted in Moscow. Veteran presenter Wogan, 70, cast doubt on whether he would be involved in covering the event again following this year's contest. He said it was "no longer a music contest" and that prospects for western European participants were "poor". The show has suffered from accusations of bloc voting, which was blamed by some for leaving Britain's 2008 contestant, Andy Abraham, with only 14 points. I'm trying to get rid of a website that comes on when I switch on my computer or when I'm already on it (on my main website). It comes all of a sudden (like a pop up) even though i haven't typed it as it's an unwanted website. It's weird. I 've tried in the "Tools" and "Options" to remove it in "Sensitive websites" but it comes back again. It's annoying. Who knows what I can do ? Thank's in advance.

Jewish settlers in the West Bank city of Hebron have been involved in further clashes with Israeli security forces and local Palestinians. Settlers refuse to leave the legally contested house in Hebron Tensions rose after Israel declared a large building occupied by settlers to be a "closed military area". Israeli forces then barred Jews from entering Hebron's Palestinian section. Israeli politicians say the building will be forcibly evacuated if no agreement can be reached with the settlers. Haaretz, the Israeli daily, reports that Defence Minister Ehud Barak is due to meet the settlers on Thursday, in a last-ditch effort to salvage a peaceful outcom…

A man has used energy drinks and vegetables to power his iPod without causing damage to the environment. Owen Louis, 21, dug two holes into an onion, poured in the drink and then placed his USB cable in the food for an hour, reports Metro. "I was watching TV with my laptop on and my iPod playing and thought, 'How much electricity must I be using?'" said Louis. "A friend showed me the experiment as a laugh but I thought it was the greatest thing I have ever seen, and do it religiously every day." Physics lecturer Phil Stubbles revealed that almost all vegetables mixed with energy drinks could power an iPod because of the mixture of ions. "The only problem is…

I have a PS3 and a tube T.V. that supports S-video but not HDMI. My receiver can support up to Fiber Optical Digital for the best sound. I want to use the PS3 for games, movies, and music. Therefore, Is my best setup going to be S-video for the video and Fiber Optical Digital for the audio? Or is there a better option? Also will I be able to play Blu-Ray movies? I have surround sound, and want the best quality possible for both movies, music, and games.

BEIJING (Reuters) – A panda at a zoo in southern China attacked a student who snuck into its pen hoping for a cuddle with the endangered bear, state media said Saturday. The 20-year-old male student surnamed Liu jumped over the fence at the zoo in the tourist city of Guilin, ignoring warning signs not to, Xinhua news agency said. "The panda, named Yangyang, was wide awake. Apparently scared by the intruder, he bit at Liu's arms and legs," it quoted an unnamed worker as saying after zoo keepers managed to calm the bear and rescue Liu, the report said. "Yangyang was so cute and I just wanted to cuddle him," Liu was quoted as saying from his hospital bed. "I didn't expect…

  24. White Ethnocentrism: Can Americans Really Be Brainwashed? Most Republicans are not rich white oligarchs. The fact is that the Republican base is really about the Sarah Palin phenomenon—white Christians—many with small town roots in the South and West—who yearn for the America they are rapidly losing: a white America One of the great intellectual divides is the venerable nature/nurture dichotomy. Conservatives tend to be on the side of nature: "Race exists as a biological reality; there are race differences in socially important traits like IQ; people’s brains are wired to prefer people like themselves; they are more likely to contribute to public goods like he…
