Authorities in Malaysia have fined the organisers of a recent Pussycats Dolls concert for flouting decency laws, a local newspaper has reported. Promoters Absolute Entertainment have been fined 10,000 Ringgits (£1,436) for allowing the female US act to perform "sexually suggestive" routines. The penalty was imposed by the council which manages the Kuala Lumpur suburb where the event took place on 26 July. Malaysia has a history of censoring films and banning musicians. QUITO, Ecuador - Ecuador's Tungurahua volcano spewed molten rock on Thursday that enveloped nearby houses, leaving one man dead, another person missing and forcing thousands from their homes. Massive clouds of ash descended on villagers fleeing the area with their belongings strapped to their backs and their livestock trailing behind. Some wore buckets over their heads for protection. "At the moment we know of one dead, one missing and 12 people injured who are now out of danger," Roberto Rodriguez, a civil defense official, said in Quito. "About 5,000 people have been evacuated." Nasa has declared space shuttle Atlantis ready to launch on 27 August to restart construction of the half-built International Space Station. Launch has been set for 1630 EDT (2030 GMT), but technical issues must be resolved before the shuttle is formally cleared for flight. The mission will be the first to resume assembly of the $100bn space station since the Columbia disaster in 2003. Nasa has since flown two missions designed to test safety upgrades. Engineers are concerned that two bolts securing the shuttle's primary communications antenna to the cargo bay wall are too short. They want to make sure that the antenna does not fly off in the payload bay…

Queues warning over post changes Long queues are predicted at post offices on Monday as branches struggle to implement radical changes to mail charges, a consumer watchdog warns. A Post-watch survey of 307 branches early in August found a third were not ready for the changes, which will price mail by size as well as weight. A third had not put up posters about the change and 34% had no template to check the size of post, Post-watch said. Royal Mail said staff had been trained in the changes. However, Post-watch predicted long queues as staff and customers deal with the changes at the UK's 14,400 post offices. The survey also found there were no leaflets …
