Charlie Brown

Anyone else think Chris' voice sounds a bit odd in the first two verses (stole the key... up until be a cartoon heart)... I don't know if there are some slight effects on it or what, but I noticed a difference between the studio and live version. Not saying I dislike it, just saying it has a bit of a different sound to it.

I've been listening to Charlie Brown a lot recently, and the lyrics inspired me to colour/paint something :p Feedback appreciated :D

You know, Chris said it himself and I've had this sentiment since the get-go, but I think that if anything will have a long-standing legacy looking back on their career as a band once it's all over, they'll have Charlie Brown as one of their main songs, maybe we've seen two or three others in their previous work (Viva La Vida, Yellow, Clocks maybe) that might be at that level. If they made a greatest hits album at the end of their careers, Charlie Brown would be one of the most important tracks. I mean I like the other material off of this "MX" or whatever it seems, but this song seems like their most important. Yes? No? Maybe so?

I was just watching the footy on sky sports 2 (Aston Villa v Wolves) and at the end when they were showing the premier league table, I recognised the song that they were playing in the background. I rewound it and listened again and it was unmistakably the main riff from Charlie Brown, and it wasn't a live version, it was very much a studio version of the track. It was only on for about 7 or 8 seconds so the riff was the only part that could be heard, but anyway, very exciting to hear a bit of it as what may be the finished version. Anyone else hear it? Keep an ear out whenever you're watching Sky sports because they'll probably be using it again in similar situat…

After knowing that Coldplay has a song called "Charlie Brown" and seeing this, I was wondering... should they have to do a song called "Schroeder" just like one of the others characters of the "Peanuts" series? He deserves it too! :D Maybe as a b-side of the possible Charlie Brown single! Chris could talk about his love of playing the piano and things like this... it would be a very funny stuff :D

Is it just me, or did they add some more... something to Charlie Brown. I noticed it when they performed it on Jimmy Kimmel, and then when I heard their Lollapalooza performance, the song just sounded fuller. Especially during Johnny's hook. It sounds like they added a keyboard or synth sound (sort of like Lovers in Japan?). Anyone else notice that? I LOVE it.

Hello! :) Tonight I had a weird dream and in it I heard the song Moses and When I woke up I realized that this sound is similar to Charlie Brown... My dream was that my my grandmother decorate an aquarium and I join to do so with her. Then when the decoration is finished, a light of green and gold appear on the surface of water and a goldfish appears like magic... And I decided to call this fish, Charlie Brown :laugh3: At the end of this dream I heard the song Moses and that's when I realized a similarity between the two :dance: Are you agree? ;)

...is it me, or does Cartoon Heart remind anyone else of "Stand Inside Your Love" by the Smashing Pumpkins? I think it sounds awfully similar. Especially the propulsive drum beat.

i think that the intro that jony b do with his electric guitar in the song is so beatiful and it so addictiv :) (if somebody got tabs for the intro post it here pls :) )

what about this song is awesome... basicly everything! Charlie brown has one of the most cathy guitar riffs ever. The rythem is nice and simple. And its becoming one of my favorites from Coldplay
