I know there was no paradise single cd but do you think they will make one for charlie brown (i hope so!) ill be so mad if they dont! and is there any info on one?

..just like the Osaka Sun Mix of Lovers in Japan. well not exactly with only little differences like that, but give us the vibrant, energetic mix that we've heard so much on live performances. the mix a song as amazing as CB really deserves. cos really i'm on the verge of surgically alter the studio version to my liking right about now. (evil glance at my Pro Tools icon) i know creating this thread will not make anything happen or change anything, but one could dream, right?

Since Charlie Brown will be a single, will this give it more publicity in America (such as being put on the Billboard Top 100)?

That's according to a well known Dutch Radio station 3FM, it's the highest new entry of the 3FM Top 50 Chart at # 19, here's the article : This basically says that that Coldplay has a new single called Charlie Brown that's named after the cartoon from Charles M. Schulz. Coldplay was planning to make 2 albums at the same time, one acoustic, one more upbeat. Charlie Brown was one of the theme tracks from the album. But they decided 2 albums weren't going to work so CB is now on Mylo Xyloto. The rest is about the Anton Corbijn award, nothing new. So can we confirm Charlie Brown released or not yet? Oh and Paradise just went from #8 to #6 again.:D

Hey everyone! EMI Music Argentina, Colombia and México revealed the "single edit" of Charlie Brown and confirmed that it will be the third single of Mylo Xyloto! Though Coldplay hasn't made any official announcement yet, I trust EMI sources and I think we will hear news of this new single this week. Live it sounded massive and it was my favorite part of the song. But on the studio version it sounds sooooo weak. Anyone else really disappointed by that part?

I think it is... Most of my favourite Coldplay tracks are from Parachutes or A Rush of Blood, with a few being from VLV and very little from X&Y and MX. Charlie Brown is a fantastic song though, possibly in my top 5 Coldplay songs, the rest of my top five is made up of stuff from Rush mainly, since I think it's an album dominated by many of their best songs. The only songs between the MX and Rush eras that could be considered some of my favourite Coldplay songs are Viva la Vida, Strawberry Swing, Talk or Square One. I think it'd be nice if someone that has a nice big picture of the symbol for Charlie Brown - the flower - made a poppy version, or at least just posted their picture, so I or someone else could? I think it'd be a nice idea to make it our avatars for a day. I'd do it, but my file of the flower is about 10 x 15 pixels :(

Do you like Charlie Brown Live or from the Studio better?

I read the Oracle question about why Charlie Brown is called Charlie Brown and pretty much it is a deleted lyric and they couldn't think of what else to call it. That leads to a good question, what would you call it (exlcuding Charlie Brown)? I'll post up 4-5 options, but leave an Other category for other suggestions.

I just listened to the Letterman performance of Charlie Brown and wasn't that taken with it, it sounds slower, and a little lifeless compared to all the other live versions played at festivals. I really hope I am not going to be disapointed by the studio version of this song :\

When I first heard the snippet of the studio version of Charlie Brown in the Sky Advert's, I thought it was going to quite possibly be might favorite Coldplay song of all time. I heard the studio version, I was pretty disappointed. It almost sounds better in the advert!...Or maybe I just had to high of expectations. Anyway, it's a good song, just not the epic that I thought it would be!

I need help. This is for those who have heard the studio version. Listen to the beginning of the song very closely, as the audio starts to get louder, before the first "big" riff. What is the sound/instrument in the background? It is very subtle, but it sounds to me like an accordion, which would actually make sense based on the article that said the song was originally based on the accordion being the riff itself. Any opinions or answers on this?

I wasnt expecting this, and Im not sure if you guys knew, but you can stream Charlie Brown today on itunes for free, and the quality is GREAT and probably alot better than what you have been listening to :) I hope this mean Charlie Brown will get even more exposure :)
