Really, Gus? It's Van Sant's attempt at a quirky indie romance, spewing predictable cliche after cliche until the 'dramatic' moments topple over themselves laughing. The depth of it could be summed up by any and every artsy high-schoolers tumblr page, as they spend much of it running through grassy fields in the latest hipster fashions. The 3 is for Mia Wasikowska, who, despite the film, is the cutest thing since sliced bread.

Hugo Cabret 8/10

I never head about this movie until the moment when I've seen it and I loved it from the first minute on. I love the whole scenery of Paris in 1930. And the story is so wonderful! And I like the fact that it's interesting for kids and adults equally!

OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies - 7/10

Really entertaining with humorous dialogue, and Jean Dujardin was really charming in the role. Not exactly sure if he was overdoing it with his facial expressions (and eyebrows :blank: ) at times, though.

The Artist 8/10

The Help 8/10

both great.

I'm growing tired of American teens' lives and their happy-ending stories you're shown on the screen, to be honest. But I looooooove Kellan Lutz  and think that he's done this one quite well! Only the plot was a bit of letdown....

"Adam's Apples" - 9/10

freaking story, simple but very inspirating. Worth seeing!

3 Idiots - 5.5/10

The movie had a good message and plenty of heartwarming and funny scenes, but it felt too long (then again, most Bollywood films are 3+ hours long). It also got a little too melodramatic around the end. Beautiful cinematography, though.

The Art of Getting By: 4.75/10

A lot of the same flaws as restless. Beginning feels contrived and condescending. The half-assed existentialist deal takes back seat to being a feel good indie-romance with the approriate soundtrack of jangly indie-rock, covers of postal service, belle and sebastian etc..

Some reasonably enjoyable moments, but mainly just tracing the predictable steps of a million similar films coming out these days.

The Dreamers

The Dreamers film I watched last night and WHAT A FILM!!

The film has been adapted for the screen by Gilbert Adair, based on his 1988 novel The Holy Innocents. It’s also directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, which seems oddly appropriate, given that the same director made the equally controversial Last Tango In Paris – indeed, you could practically nick-name The Dreamers ‘First Tango In Paris’.

I highly recommend this wonderful classic film, :)

The Fall (2006) - 7.5/10

One of the most visually stunning films I've ever seen. :wideeyed:
