October 27, 200916 yr Potter fan hits roadblock with Halloween party A single mother from the United Kingdom was planning to have a Harry Potter-themed party this weekend to celebrate Halloween. Instead Ms. Marmite Lover will have to change things up a bit. Last Friday, she received a cease-and-desist letter from Warner Bros. suggesting that her "proposed use of the Harry Potter properties...without our consent would amount to an infringement of Warner's rights." Ms. Lover was looking to charge a small entry fee (as she has for other themed parties), but says that no harm was intended. She set up a small site to purchase tickets online. "My living room holds under 30 people, this is hardly some cynical money spinning exercise – at a maximum of 25 British pounds a head I won't make a profit, I'll be struggling to cover the costs of the ingredients and props I've shelled out on, such as dry ice and miracle berries." Warner Bros. said they do not, of course, object to her holding a generic wizard/Halloween night and that is what Ms. Lover has been forced to do. :dozey:

November 24, 200916 yr 1 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by JK Rowling Bloomsbury, 2007 £8.99 If you don’t know what a Muggle is by now, you’re either Rip van Winkle or enormously stubborn. This is the seventh and final instalment in Rowling’s record-breaking series about Harry Potter, the world’s most famous lightning-scarred boy wizard and his tribulations with Lord Voldemort. We’ve seen Harry grow from a spindly, messy-haired 11-year-old into a heroic young adult. Children have grown up with him, finding in his battles metaphors for their own. This volume alone sold 15 million copies in the first 24 hours after it was published. Whether wickedly skewering suburbia, or bringing Harry, Ron and Hermione into mortal danger, Rowling is never less than absorbing. Some may sneer at her books, but they are triumphant sagas about the defeat of evil that tap into our basic hunger for stories. Most importantly, she makes reading a 700-page book seem easy. This one even has a quotation from Aeschylus as its epigraph. It stands as a cornerstone of the decade, a melding of high and low culture that appeals to all ages and nations. This book was so good. So not a kids book at all (hell, half the people died). Intense and awesome quite simply.
December 2, 200916 yr interesting yet strangely unsettling news. Apparently Dan Radcliffe is going nude for the silver doe scene, and when before Ron destroys the horcrux, it won't be depict him as lowly and unimportant as in the book, but will show Harry and Hermione embracing and kissing among other various nightmarish images. what are y'alls thoughts on this? http://mugglenet.com/app/news/full_story/3025
December 4, 200916 yr Leaked Trailer [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Jny9CTUw-4&feature=player_embedded]YouTube- Harry Potter *o* First Trailer[/ame]
December 5, 200916 yr huh, willy intewesting. seems a bit raw, in that it doesn't seem all that 'official' or well- edited. just a combination of video bits gathered at earlier filming sites. but some really cool images, like the ministry outfits and his parents grave.

I don't recall him being completely nude when he jumped into the water to get the sword, and also when "Harry and Hermione" kiss, it was sort of just swirling vapors with their heads, not showing anything. Unfortunately, as a big Ron/Rupert Grint fan, I'm hoping all the nakedness doesn't take attention away from the true importance of the scene- Ron's most important scene. I also read that they have added an "intimate" scene between Harry and Hermione after Ron leaves. Why are they still pushing Harry-Hermione onto us? For the movie goers who don't read the books, it'll be like out of left field when Ron and Hermione get together at the end.
