Suburban War? really? i agree the first couple of minutes are a bit of a drag but the part where the song really kicks in would have the best moment on the album.

 

how far do we think AF is from earning the title "biggest band in the world" their album sold very very well, they've won the grammy for best album and will spend the northern summer headlining some of the biggest festivals in the world. it would be nice to see a band hit that level of success while they're still enjoying decent critical accalim and popularity with the mainstream and alternative markets. by the time coldplay reached that level they were offside with critics and had lost their alternative scene popularity. the only artist i think of at the moment who has managed to do it all is Kanye West.

 

Very close. They have a big sound that will play well at festivals and large venues. When I think in terms of "biggest band in the world", I am reminded of those bands that are capable to draw mass and diverse audiences.

Omissions for me

 

1. Rococo

 

This. That song is so godawful annoying. I don't need to know about the kids singing "rococo rococo rococo rococo rococo" forever and ever into the night. :bomb:

Similar to this, I want to comment on how I disapprove of the amount of disapproval for "City with No Children." Then again, I'm biased, as it's my favorite. :heart:

 

Sprawl I

 

Once again, I'll state my opinion that I like "Sprawl I" much better than "Sprawl II," as well as mention that having a "Sprawl II" without a "Sprawl I" is a bit silly.

I would probably originally have said cut Empty Room and Month of May. But after seeing them live my opinion has changes as I enjoy them. Honestly I wouldn't cut any of them out.

I bet I'll have to wait till I come back from their concert to get it and hear the songs, haha.

Though it will be slightly cool hearing those songs for the first time live instead of them normally.
