Imke, Julia, Stefan and me saw them in a smaller venue in November and it was perfect!

Don't worry, you'll have a great time!! :awesome:

Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

Philipshalle is a smaller venue? In that case I don't want to know what a big venue is.

That venue is just about OK size-wise, IMO. I've seen Coldplay, Travis, Snow Patrol, Robbie and Amy MacDonald there.

Not my favourite venue by any means, but bearable.;)

Listening to Sprawl ii. What a tune!

I never did understand why people like Sprawl ii so much. I just can't seem to get into it.

Personally, I think that The Suburbs would be a much stronger album with a shorter tracklisting. I wouldn't be terribly disappointed if someone cut out 5 or 6 of the songs.

It's probably the best song I have listened to in at least 3 years! It may be a bit long the album but hey, we get value for money! It's fucking brilliant! For me and I guess for a lot of people these guys are setting the standard in music at the moment.

No chance! Sprawl ii is just so nostalgic and I love the synths on it as well.

There may have been one or two tracks I might have cut from The Suburbs, but for the most part I think it avoids dragging on needlessly. (You also have to remember that "The Suburbs (Continued)" is merely a brief outro piece) It obviously shouldn't have been any longer, but I'm actually curious as to what didn't quite make the cut, especially in an age where fewer artists are releasing B-sides (pretty sure they even declared the B-side "dead" in an interview). I've heard some things about a possible deluxe edition being released in the future with more music, but I have yet to actually see any official word on the matter.

You know I think I agree with you on that one.

Dead right!

Just got hold of The Suburbs on Play.com for 7.50 Euros. Definitely a bargain!:D

I love Sprawl II, it was my favorite 2010 song but everytime I listen to Sprawl I, I like it more, it's a great song. I used to hate Regine's voice back then but this song is special, I don't know why. Also the MSG gig version was so cute

I agree The Suburbs maybe it's a bit too long but I still think it works great. I don't skip songs most of the times because I like it as a whole. Well I'm such a fangirl I don't skip songs when I'm listening to AF :wacky:

Don't get me wrong. I love the entire album. It's just that I think it would have worked better if it were split into two releases. One LP and one EP. I just feel guilty trying to take in the album in one sitting, because I have so many more important things to do that the indulgence feels selfish.

I reckon The Arcade Fire might well be the coolest North American band of all time.:smug:

They just announced a couple more shows with The National in Kansas City and St Louis Missouri

The MSG one was memorable but the MTV Galicia 2010 version was sublime!

Thinking of getting tickets for their Edinburgh date in September. Only thing is tickets are seated from the back. Never attended a concert standing from the back of the arena so does anyone know if it's worth it? Anyone help?!

Tickets booked for their final date in Edinburgh! Got them through a link through their own website. So much better than Ticketmaster.
