Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

I´m currently really addicted to their music :D I'm really looking forward to see them the 29th of August!

of course I catch the last 10 seconds of the song

edit: I'll just wait until It comes online to listen to

another new song in a few minutes :dazzled:

I like it!

Didn't catch the first one, but Culture War sounds pretty good.

"Speaking in Tongues" is a nice song, though I can see why it was left off the album, especially since some people already criticize The Suburbs' length. Didn't think David Byrne added too much.

"Culture War" is really awesome, though. Already listened to it 3 times and going back for more.

Scratch that, I heard Speaking In Tongues as well now. And I actually think it sounds better that Culture War. Although neither of them really impressed me. Good not great, I guess.

I can see why they didn't include those songs in The Suburbs

Yeah, I find usually b-sides and outtakes are nothing to wet your pants over. Ideas that were cool but never fully took off. I also can't see either of these making their way into their live shows.

Much of the same of the album for me. First two albums were cracking because of the wonderful layers and beautiful sound, combined with some actual song-writing. Now it's all basic stuff, hardly inventive or imaginative, and the vocals are starting to sound weary and uninspiring without the right backdrop.

They are going to have to find that something again or the kids can have them.

I don't know. Thought the second album was a bit contrived at times. Bit too much too soon IMO

Quite possibly. I do prefer the first. I think the second album still had some good song writing though, which is why I was still very much interested in their work. I have zero expectation for their future work, which gives them plenty of room to spring a surprise on me. I don't think they will though. I certainly don't think they'll be able to muster more than two good songs an album from now on.

This. I'm really just bummed by the new stuff, don't like it at all :/ I'll just go back to jamming to Neon Bible...

Yeah, try to remember the good times.

They might not be dead yet, I saw them twitching in the last minute and a bit of the new album.

I haven't listened to them enough to form an opinion.
