Yep. I discovered them thanks to Chris mentioning them in X&Y era interviews as an influence (or notably in Toronto 2006 "God gave you style and led you higher/God gave you the music of the Arcade

Yeah I got into Coldplay first and then slowly started getting into Arcade Fire. Once I started to realize their similarities and that Coldplay toured with them during the LVL era, it made me become a

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

^ Exactly! I was just thinking that yesterday. But definitely not OK Computer.. I don't understand how they can compare it to that really. And anyway, I don't think the album is thaat disappointing as some have been saying, I quite like some of the songs.

And I still have faith in them in doing something quite awesome next.

haha, dejan is funny. don't be so defensive about the music you like. the important thing is you like it. does it really matter what a few random people off the internet think? does it even matter what your friends think about it? how you feel about this record is personal to you, and so far you have tried to explain your enjoyment of the suburbs reasonably coherently.

the last few replies however are just getting petty. this is a messageboard so things will get discussed. you won't agree with everything that gets posted but you can debate and put your point across.

i'll try and find something online that can teach you how to do the internet right. hang on.

It's like Hail To The Thief. It's too long, some songs just don't need to be there.

Thats a pretty accurate comparison. Though I love the album, the suburbs that is. Average album from an excellent band.

you can't appreciate this kind of music because you usually listen to justin bieber and all that kind of stupid shit tongue3.gif

pulling out some funny jokes there.

OMG you are too funny OMFG

if you're other comments were as sarcastic as that they might have been less pathetic.

For me,these are the only fillers:

1)The Suburbs

11)Wasted Hours

12)Deep Blue

16)The Suburbs (continued)

i am more than willing to continue a discussion on the new album with you dejan, if you want to stop being childish and over protective since i am interested in your opinions on the album, but if not i'm just gonna keep laughing at you.

i've just said that maybe you have listened to another record.

this is a pathetic comment ? FUCK OFF then

ah, ok. we are on to something here. something we can discuss maturely hopefully. why do you think tracks other than these are not fillers?

and i also find it strange (but not inexplicable) that you have so much love for an album which has 4 fillers, especially when one of them is the first song (something that would stereotypically set the scene of an album like this).

i've just said that maybe you have listened to another record.

i wasn't talking about what you said to me. i was talking about the bieber comments to somebody else who dared to disagree with you. but that is in the past. we have a new topic to discuss if you wish to.

if it wasn't directed to you, get a fuckin life

so we can only discuss things that are said to each other directly?

do you understand how a messageboard works?

can we get back on topic and talk about the fillers in the album, instead of it descending into a 'Dejans failed putdowns' thread?

a Dejans failed putdowns' thread? you are wrong again, fucktard

So, Arcade Fire.

Let's discuss it. :wacky:

I've only heard a few songs off The Suburbs honestly, and it feels a bit less raw and original and such but I still enjoy what I've heard basically.

I prefer Funeral, I'm probably biased though.

edit: DEJAN STOP BEING A JERK :blank:

I want to go to the dublin show :bomb:

but I have no one to go with me and rumours are saying that the tickets will be €73! WTF. they aren't yet up on ticketmaster so I can't check :bigcry:

People are also saying that vampire weekend will be supporting ? :uhoh:

I don't have the money though.

Have they announced a North American tour or anything yet? :uhoh:

a Dejans failed putdowns' thread? you are wrong again, fucktard

are you reading all my posts, in which i have asked you serious questions on the album, or have you realised you have nothing to back up your opinions with and have decided to make this into a series of the most embarrassing comebacks of all time in order to keep us all amused?

HANDY HINT: try replying to my earlier posts before this one

I think i'll be getting them for christmas  I just hope the rumours aren't true :bigcry: other dates in europe are between €30 and €40, why the fuck would Ireland be €73 ? :wtf:

I still don't have anyone to go with though :uhoh:
