GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS THREAD

ahahahahahahahahaaaa...if every Arcade Fire fan is as chilled as you are then I am really looking forward to see them in November...and ahahahahahahha I've done a random search of other posts you made. Why do you even join a message-board when you call everyone who doesn't agree with you either to fuck off or an asshole..??? So watch out...or you'll be the one "to get the fuck out of this forum"

ok to stay on-topic and not wasting a post just for you,... so I have been listening to it again yesterday...some songs are growing (I can't remember which ones I will try to find out when I am at home) and the last song is rather beautiful, but too short...unfortunately

maybe I've been expecting too much after the last two albums...but it's disappointing anyways...I believed they could be doing something really really great

Yeah, I followed a path similar to yours. I am a big fan of VLV and MX (the "midplay" era, ahah) and when I discovered that Coldplay mentioned several times AF as an influence during that period, I st

i think one of the problems here is that the dissenters in this thread are actually arcade fire fans and therefore still have an interest. a lot of people have stated why they have not taken to the new album but have not been able to discuss it with those who do like it since they have not given any in depth discussion about why they like it (as mentioned before). therefore if the dissenters had no interest in the band they would leave the thread and forget about it. we care that we don't feel what we felt for the other albums though because we ARE fans and so we want to see why people like it. so the dissenters are having to keep making similar posts to try and drag some discussion out of those who enjoyed the album. instead we are just getting hostility.

we are all arcade fire fans, we just don't agree on things, but that doesn't mean we can't have a meaningful discussion on the subject and share our feeling good or bad.

Agree! The last song is gorgeous, it gives me chills :wacky:

maybe you are too dumb to understand the reasons why we like it

well obviously that must be true.

but i look to you as my teacher oh wise one. why is it that the gods have decreed that the suburbs is so sacred as to not be able to be questioned in any way shape or form without vengeance?

And your definition of annoying is?

And your definition of annoying is?

i think that would be the category 'people who aren't dejan'

:laugh3::laugh3:

I lol'd.

Seriously, I was sitting here practically giggling.

I think what I've got against this album most is that it sounds lot more mainstream, but I also really don't have a problem with that.

I think what I've got against this album most is that it sounds lot more mainstream, but I also really don't have a problem with that.

i know what you mean. but the feeling i get is that they tried to be mainstream but didn't quite pull it off. for me to get into this album it could happen have done with being a little more poppy, rather than repetitive.

the fact they didn't go all out mainstream gives me hope for the next album though. going mainstream isn't necessarily the end for a band obviously (and there are mainstream bands that i like), but it's a slippery slope for many bands and i wouldn't want arcade fire to be one of those bands. i like arcade fire for certain reasons, and if they went more mainstream they would be losing a lot of that.

Well I don't have a problem with people disliking the album, I don't really give a crap tbh, but I also don't think I have to justify WHY I love it if I love it  matter of opinion, can this thread go back to happy now?

edit: and i'm not saying that you can't say a bad word about it, just that people shouldn't get pissed off about that cos it doesn't really matter what others think anyways

i understand that. and i want the thread to go back to happy.

it's just when i go into a thread and give what i feel is a fair opinion i don't expect such hostility (not from you of course). had the people posting criticism been met with something a little more intellectual than being told to get out of the thread and that they are wrong, then things could have carried on. like i have said i am happy (and somewhat envious) for the people who like the album and i would like to talk to people about why they like it. people don't have to respond - like you said you don't have to justify your opinion if you don't want to - but when people attack others, things like this happen and loads of rubbish gets written that isn't actually about the music.

but like i said, you have responded with dignity and have been nothing but nice

i wish others had too.

Yeahhh Mojo Jojo. :awesome:

I really want to see them live. :bomb:

I don't know if they'll come here or who I could possibly go with though.

If they play here come here. :cheesy:

At least I'm not dumb since I like it!

Also I really don't find Wasted Hours and Deep Blue fillers. They're two of my favourite songs on the album to be honest. I love the stretch of Month of May to Wasted Hours to Deep Blue.

Month of May I wasn't a big fan of when the song first came out. But after hearing it in the context of the album I love it. It brings a type of energy not heard in their other songs. Kind of an uncomfortable squirming in your chair type of energy.

Wasted Hours is another track I really like. Lyrically I'm a big fan of it. It really does sound like a song wasting hours. Now you may say that is that makes it a filler track right? Not really in my opinion. I think it just really captures that Canadian Singer Songwriter vibe, Neil Young could cover this one. Also enjoy the string arrangement going on in the background of this track.

Deep Blue is another track where I love Win's lyrics and the vocal delivery. How it starts with a pretty slow then builds up with the "nah nah nah" lyrics, then drops off again for another verse, then continues to build up gaining momentum as the song goes on. Love the keys that come in here and there. I don't find the song "boring" or "filler" as it continues to have new dynamics thrown in as the song carries on.

And your definition of annoying is?

if i say the same thing for 2 pages straight, don't you think i'm annoying ?

I agree with you on this one, is getting a little annoying.

the thread goes quite for a little while

someone makes a genuine post, analysing the music positively

everyone gets excited that we will talk about the music

then dejan posts straight after

anyways, thanks briggins. i shall listen to some of the songs again and look at what you have said and see what i feel.
