I don't get some people... I really love this new album. They needed to evolve. You can't aspect that they bring out a second parachutes or a second rush of blood...

 

Well even the biggest critics (ME) expected an evolution of some sort, but this is incredibly basic to me.

What did yoy expected then? A combination of parachutes and a rush of blood to the heda?

Does it have any of the heart and soul that an album like "Parachutes" had? Absolutely not.

 

i feel the same way. good CD overall, it's just a slightly different band.

It's my exact feeling about that album.

having listened to all of the new album now i can honestly say i think it is in league withe the other two. comparison is going to be inevitable but ultimately i think that they are so different that it would be difficult to do so, i like all of the albums just about equally :nice: but i'm liking their new style, rockier doesn't necessarily mean less passion or soul.

Sorry :) I got real pissed reading that short review at the beginning of this thread. I need to realize that there are going to be haters. I just think this album is divine and am a little bummed out about the response.

Well, it's a bit sad, but if you compare that X&Y with the 2 old masterpiece albums, that's quite true.

 

They are really simpified (banalized) their musical structure.

 

Another important signal (for me personally) is that when I was listening to the old Coldplay I was always fascinated and runs to get guitar or to the piano to play and sing all their songs.

 

This thing with X&Y songs has still never happened.

No. You're entitled to your opinion. I just don't SEE how you could have a problem with this album. It's change, it's good.

after the first listen i tought some song were good some not,but didnt know what to think of the song x and y.after a couple of listens,i think its the best song

Although.. I think we can all agree.. even if this album doesn't compare to Parachutes... it's still the best CD release that anyone has seen since AROBTTH!

and also, I think your missing the point.. it's not that XY isn't as good as former albums ... it's just *not* parachutes... it's like comparing apples and oranges... both fruits - but different and fantastic for different reasons...

Really? Have you heard Don`t Believe The Truth, sorry mate, as much as I like Coldplay, this album just blows X&Y away.

The tracks on Oasis`s album are very different from each other, each one is unique and an amazing track, maybe with exception to The Meaning Of Soul.

The only really good track on X&Y is White Shadows, with the rest being samey and moany.

Speed Of Sound suddenly sounds a whole lot better.

This album is quite a disappointed :(

I like Coldplays fist 2 albums, but X&Y is just a bad album

Sorry man, NO WAY. Heard new Oasis whom I used to adore and still like and yes Don't Believe is a return to form for them but doesn't approach Coldplay's new release. This album may be a dividing line amongst Coldplay fans. I'm at a loss as to how this album is disappointing. as I've said before, the coming weeks and months shall tell the tale :sneaky:
