If you were going to tell a friend or someone who has not heard or really listend to Coldplays music.Which album of the the 3 would you tell them to listen too first.Im kinda leaning toward AROBTTH and i dont think i would tell them to get X&Y first seeing as it is slightly different but not much from the first 2 albums but they also have some great songs on there.So i was wondering what everyone would recommend for a first time listener?

I would tell them to listen to the albums in order.. see what kind of progression the band has had...

and definitly reccomend the B-sides :)

^ I support listening to Parachutes first. The band may not necessarily agree but I think Parachutes was their defining album... The album that showed the world who they are, what they're about and what made them special compared to other bands

I would say X&Y because it has a little of everything on it. I think it's their best one. Actually if you do want to get somebody into Coldplay, you should stick with what the majority say here and hand em' Parachutes! lol

I bought Parachutes and AROBTTH at the same time when I got em. I listened to Parachutes first - it's nice to see how a band changes over time. I still think Parachutes is the best album... Not that the other ones are bad, just Parachutes edges it with the start. First 6 songs get me goin :P
