The lounge is full of surprises Dani

i'm completely, totally and utterly for gay rights in the world.

i have two friends that are gay, and want to get married, but they don't have enough money to take their wedding all the way to canada or another state.

that's not right. that's not fair.

i hate people who treat you all differently. it's totally stupid.

:)

people suck. :P

im not gay.....and i dont have a problem with gay people. If people want to be gay then go ahead i really dont care and it sucks how some people treat gays........cause there humanbeings just like the rest of us :)

know how i know your gay? you started a thread about gays on a coldplay forum. :)

that was a joke by the way. im only 16 and have no problems with gays.live your life the way you wanna live. thats what i do. im diff. than a lot of kids my age though i have problems of my own, i think deeper than most kids my age. and about that marriage thing with your two friends thats complete bs.

I am straight, but I totally support gay marriage and homosexual relationships. I have many gay/lesbian friends, and it always breaks my heart when ignorant people around me bash them or call them horrible names like 'flamers' just because they are 'different'. They are people, people with heart and feelings. And it is just so naive that people are not willing to accept it. If you don't agree with it, keep it to yourself, don't make crude and immature jokes about them.

I'm straight too, and I'm agree, gay must have all the same rights, of course!

I don't feel more or less than gay people, everyone is free to do all they want with their lives, and I would never say "no" to a gay experience, by now I'm straight but who knows...

I hate ignorant people who think it's something wrong or sick and all the other things some people say, when I wake up in the morning to my girlfriend cuddling me or stroking my hair I just close my eyes for a second and smile because I feel like the happiest girl in the world and no amount of name calling or narrow minded opinions of other people are ever going to change the way I feel about her.

I think adoption should be allowed just because someone is gay doesn't mean they won't make a great parent, I would say I would adopt one day but in truth I want my own.

I'm gay too, and so proud of it :)

So proud of what exactly? :D

Thanks for your support, but I don't think anyone "wants" to be gay or straight, it just kinda happens. :P

There is a series on BBC at the moment called The Making Of Me. The first episode was about John Barrowman trying to find out what makes him gay - is it nature or nurture?

I encourage everybody to watch this, gay or straight. I don't know if it's available outside the UK, if not maybe someone could rip it etc:

It is really interesting...

Just finished it. The tests they did on him were interesting, but to a large extent they didn't correlate with my own experience -

1. I never played with dolls as a kid.

2. My ring finger IS about the same length as my index finger, so this one works for me.

3. I have no older brothers (as I'm the first child), and my younger brother is straight.

I'm thinking it's not genetic, just something about how the brain develops in the womb. This could possibly be influenced by any number of factors, even what mom eats while she's pregnant.

On a side note, I thought it was funny how he used a Scottish accent when talking to his parents. :P

The most important point is that John Barrowman comes across as a very nice guy. His sexual orientation is completely irrelevant.;)

ya good point .......sorry about that...:smug:

Do any of you gay guys/girls just not really think about your sexuality a great deal and just think of it as part of your life?, like with me I don't feel pride and the need to tell everyone I meet that I'm lez or to go on marches etc I just live my life as me and my sexuality is just part of me.

I'm making no sense here am I?

I agree, I think it's obnoxious and stupid, and I'd feel very uncomfortable at one of those gay marches. If there are ever gay marches, the participants should dress and behave normally to prove they're no different from the rest of society. That's the only way to gain acceptance.

True. Have you ever seen those "dikes on bikes"??

I'm quite happy to hear you say that miss stratocaster! I'm straight... and live in Brighton....aka supposedly the gay capital of England. but it's totally not like that. I hate that people always suppose this, when it's not an issue....whether gay or straight, its just like any other city.

However, the huge Pride festival here has me wondering why is there the need to PROVE that you're gay and go around shouting about it. The fact that everyone gets on with life perfectly well whether they're gay or straight in my city is proof enough that it's doesn't need to be shoved in your face. I suppose the carnival is entertainment though.

I've never liked the idea of those marches or shouting to anyone who will listen about my sexuality, it's pretty easy for me acting normally because I dress, look and act a very girlie girl so people don't assume it of me because I don't fit the stereotype, much like so so many gay guys arn't camp etc.For me if someone asks me about my sexuality I will be honest as I'm not ashamed of it, I'm just not proud either.

Brighton is a really cool city because of the reasons you mentioned, you have regular clubs and gay clubs and we go to our places and straights to thiers and it's calm without hostility from either, people don't look at you funny sometimes if you hold hands or kiss in public like a straight couple, in fact I'm selling Brighton up to myself maybe I should live there one day?.

I've always thought that were all human beings and sexuality is such a small part of what makes up a person.

And yes, John Barrowman's Scottish accent is amazing :D

Wow it started in 2005!
