July 31, 200916 yr Yeah I would have totally loved that performance if it was happening while I watched, but since it happened a bit earlier it is RUBBISH.
July 31, 200916 yr ^^ have you noticed how people respect you when you talk sense and hate you when you talk rubbish. can you tell me where i've talked rubbish in the last two posts ? i've just said that it wasn't a live stream, and this is RUBBISH. y'all are too sensitive
August 1, 200916 yr Well Crying Lightning is the standout, but I'd say Pretty Visitors is solid and the same with Fire and The Thud, My Propeller is good too.
August 1, 200916 yr just to put the issue to rest. the only person who ever claimed the webcast was a "live gig" was TGE ( i would of said the same thing) the arctic monkeys only said that it was a "web transmission". live music doesnt have to be in real time.
August 1, 200916 yr double post. i really like this album cos its not a blatant effort to break america, its just smart rock with some excellent pop songs thrown in.
August 1, 200916 yr Exactly it was a live recording. I love this album, I'm having to force myself not to listen to it so I don't overdo it I hear something new I like every time I listen
August 1, 200916 yr The album is amazing. I'm trying to do the same as Nathan, and not overdo it, but I'm listening to it this very second, so I'm not doing a very good job! All tracks have got better, everytime I listen. To start with, I really wasn't a fan of "The Jeweller's Hands", but now, it's possibly my favourite track. "Pretty Visitors" is a raaaaaaawkin track. "Secret Door" is amazing as well. So, to sum up, GOOOOOOOOOD!
August 1, 200916 yr i have so much money on itunes gift cards, i will not download this early...but the wait is gettn hard cause it sounds like its a good and different album from them.
August 1, 200916 yr I love The Jeweller's Hands, Dance Little Liar, and Pretty Visitors. Oh and of course Crying Lightning.
August 2, 200916 yr Humbug in one word. Subtle. I like that description. At the moment I'm disappointed by it, but apparently it gets better the more you listen.
August 2, 200916 yr listening now. i was actually sorta disappointed with "favourite worst nightmare," so im hoping this ones shitloads better. crying lightning is fantastic though.
August 2, 200916 yr listening now. i was actually sorta disappointed with "favourite worst nightmare," so im hoping this ones shitloads better. crying lightning is fantastic though. FWN wasn't as good as WPSIATWIN but I still think it's absolutely brilliant. How can you not like Teddy Picker, Fluorescent Adolescent, 505, and Do me a Favour? The album has a lot of good tracks. It got some great reviews too.
August 2, 200916 yr Yeah, and early reviews for humbug are tentatively average... But I suppose when a band deviates from their 'normal' sound they get mixed reviews

The album has a lot of good tracks. It got some great reviews too. fluorescent adolescent, do me a favour and brianstorm are some of my favorite arctic monkeys songs ever. but i just love the entire feel of WPSIATWIN. i love every single song on that album.

August 2, 200916 yr Same, only mediocre song is Riot Van. exactly:lol: and even that song grew on me a little.
August 2, 200916 yr The vocals are so awesome. "so kind of you to bless us with your effortlessness, we're grateful and so strangely comforted."
August 2, 200916 yr alex's vocals make the arctic monkeys. imo. plus, brianstorm just makes you want to dance:nice: and who doesnt like yelling "BRIAAAAN.. TOP MARKS FOR NOT TRYING!"?
August 2, 200916 yr I'll give you that ONE line. I knew I would get into trouble, but I just dont find that song as good as others!
August 2, 200916 yr that got me in the mood for brianstorm, and i realized that all the lyrics in that song are fucking fantastic. or at least the way he says them:lol: Brian, Top marks for not tryin' So kind of you to bless us with your effortlessness We're grateful and so strangely comforted And I wonder are you puttin' us under Cause we can't take our eyes off the t-shirt and ties combination Well see you later, innovator Some want to kiss some want to kick you There's not a net you couldn't slip through Or at least that's the impression I get cause you're smooth and you're wet And she's not aware yet but she's yours She'll be sayin' use me Show me the jacuzzi I imagine that it's there on a plate Your rendezvous rate means that you'll never be frightened to make them wait for a while I doubt it's your style not to get what you set out to acquire The eyes are on fire You are the unforecasted storm (Brian) Calm, collected, and commandin' (Top marks for not tryin') You made the other stories standin' With your renditions and jokes Bet there's hundreds of blokes that have wept cause you've stolen their ...thunder Are you puttin' us under Cause we can't take our eyes off the t-shirt and ties combination Well see you later, ïnnovator
August 2, 200916 yr alex's vocals make the arctic monkeys. imo. plus, brianstorm just makes you want to dance:nice: and who doesnt like yelling "BRIAAAAN.. TOP MARKS FOR NOT TRYING!"? His vocals are very distinct and insanely awesome, but they don't make Arctic Monkeys. The instrumentals are just too damn good for the band's success to be attributed to Alex's vocals alone.
