Rocky song. Lots of people hate it, but I think it's ok. Better than Tangerine, anyway :D

Feeder Announce Fundraising London Gigs

1260937.jpg

Feeder are set to play two London dates this November to raise cash and awareness for War Child. The one-off gigs, taking place in two legendary venues, were arranged after the charitable bunch was moved by their visit to the Congo earlier this year.

The shows, which promise special guests and surprises will take place at The Roundhouse in Camden (6 Nov) and The Coronet in Elephant & Castle (9 Nov)

Welsh band members Grant Nicholas and Jon Lee originally formed Feeder with Japanese-born Taka Hirose in 1994 and went on to gain fame and fortune with the release of their third album Echo Park in 2001. Current drummer Mark Richardson replaced Jon following his tragic suicide in 2002.

Now the multi-platinum selling trio are using their notoriety to help War Child, joining the ranks of Radiohead and Coldplay who last year contributed to the charity’s album ‘Help: A Day in the Life’.

Earlier this year the charity took the band to The Democratic Republic of Congo to see first hand the work being done to rehabilitate children recruited as soldiers during the rebellion.

Front man Grant Nicholas expresses how emotional the trip was for the band, saying

“Our trip with War Child to the Congo had a truly profound effect on Mark, Taka and myself. As fathers we fully appreciate the scale of the job that War Child have undertaken and we are very pleased that once again we can join with them to hopefully make a considerable amount of money for those that we met in DRC. We are also very excited to be playing at 2 legendary London venues and having the opportunity to bring along some of our friends to help raise funds and really make a difference.

Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday 22 September and are priced £25 plus booking fee.

Feeder

Couldn't find a Feeder thread when I searched, seem to be as unrecognised as the Stereophonics.

So I've got Comfort is sound and im loving it, ill be getting Pushing the Senses next. Favorate songs so far are Feeling a Moment, Just the way im feeling, Summers gone and Love Polution.

If you haven't tried Feeder i'd encorage you to do so, especially the ones i've mentioned their like a rockier Coldplay but with more power and less vunrable in the singers voice.

Their pretty unknown outside of the UK, where they have 40 chart placements (their actually in the guiness book of records for it)

great band

used to love them years ago

they kinda faded into obscurity though after their last album

LOL, they arnt so modern are they, and theres not one on Pushing the senses either. Its on amazon used for 60p with echo park for 40p.

To be rather blunt im going to buy them BOTH and spend £1 on them (thats cheap like you could get two bus tickets for that, and when you add postage you propably could still.)

Still what have I to expect from these two albums? more Comfort in Sound style stuff? or has their style changed? I like Buck Rodgers enough to listen to it but im not into rock/rock music and certainly not metal (unless its Muse)

Good deals those, and when you factor into the cost of postage for the seller, including amazon selling fees, the profit they must be making is in the pennies, if not a loss.

Sorry, I'm an accountant, who when selling on amazon marketplace sets myself a lower limit for listing items, below that limit and I put the items in a pile to sell to the local cash converter style place (whatever it's called these days), as I will make more money that way.

I tell you what, I will do a nice merge, to make this thread look bigger than it is

But on another note, whatever did happen to the band, are they busy in a studio recording their next album?

Believe so they have new songs on their myspace apperently.

So if anyone has Pushing the Senses hows it fair up to comfort in sound?

Feeder have announced a new 4-track EP, Renegades, you can download the song "Renegades" from their website, http://www.feederweb.com RIGHT NOW!

At the moment there is lots of speculation that Feeder have changed their name to Renegades! That is their name on Myspace and when you download the song, it lists the artist as RENEGADES!

Interesting...

They have also announced intimate dates at:

Glasgow King Tuts (January 25)

Manchester Ruby Lounge (26)

Birmingham Academy 3 (28)

London Water Rats (29)

London Lexington (February 4)

London Hoxton Bar & Grill (8)
