  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Quick random question: which songs do other band members sing on besides Chris? All of them? I sometimes think I see Guy or Johnny singing harmony but don't know. Do they all sing the choruses? I know Will does most backing vocals but wondered about how often they all sing together or how often Guy and / or Johnny sing? Just a general answer or % of time is all that I'm asking; I don't want anyone going through lots of effort to lust every song. Thx!

I know they all sing parts of Fix You, Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Up&Up, and A Head Full Of Dreams. Maybe Everything's Not Lost, Paradise and Death And All His Friends as well, but I can't remember for sure.

Jonny sings backing vocals in Politik and Daylight. Listen closely, especially to a live version of either song, and you can hear Jonny's deep voice during the verses. Guy harmonizes in the chorus of Low, but I can't remember any other specific songs.

"No we won't let em take control" and "woooaaohhh" in Hurts Like Heaven

Guy also does backing vocals on Lovers in Japan and Speed of Sound

I think Guy does very much playback. For example: the "ohohoohohohooh" 's in Paradise, you always see Guy singing along with it but sometimes he forgets it and we don't hear a difference. And for example Jonny in Up&Up, I think he's playbacking too, there isn't a performance where we could here Jonny's voice anywhere (yet).

These are just my thoughts.

Will sings in The Goldrush too!

They all do, right?

Yeah, I think so, in the chorus. But Will sings the first verses by himself.

You're right, I forgot :shame:

i think at some point, they all sing their own verse in The Goldrush  i know there was a thread trying to figure out whose voice starts the verse after the first chorus, which if i remember correctly is Guy

edit: listening to it now, maybe Jonny doesn't have his own verse

Will verse -> Chris verse -> Chorus -> Guy verse (but with basically everyone else singing background) -> Chorus

You could be right !

That would make so much sense if Jonny doesn't have his own verse because during the show at the Rose Bowl Chris said about Jonny ''Singing in front of people is a tough job if you don't really love it'' :D

Some of you might know ''LivePlay'', an Italian tribute band to Coldplay.

I saw this picture of them and I immediately thought of an official Coldplay pic. I am sure they tried to imitate it a bit :)

I feel like that photo resembles another picture of the band from the MX era too, but I can't quite remember which one... maybe I'm just having deja vu.

Omg I've gotta try this when I start hormones. It'll be a really cool way to document my transition.

Only thing is that I can't figure out how he timed miming all the words.

what you could do is record yourself lipsyncing the whole song in one session and have that available in an editing software so that you can look through it frame by frame. then as you take each daily picture you just match your expression/mouth position to the individual frames, if that makes sense

that's what Shynola did for the Strawberry Swing video, by the way. they had a CG version that they used to figure out exactly what each frame should look like in terms of Chris's position and whatnot

and your idea sounds really cool. i would love to see it if you do make it :wacky:
