  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

In Chemistry today my INCREDIBLY dense class couldn't figure out the difference between a liquid and a solid (unbelievable, I know :disappointed:), so my teacher decided to use an analogy.... ABOUT BEING AT A COLDPLAY CONCERT! She said it would be so crowded (since everyone loves them, obviously. :P) that you would be a solid while in the audience, and then a liquid while walking through the aisle to get to the concession stand, and then the members of the band would be a gas. That's right, CHRIS IS A GAS!

It made me so... happy. :D

That is the greatest thing I've ever heard. Hahahaha! Though if it were me, I would have totally lost it and probably would have also forgotten along with everyone else the difference between liquids and solids. But yeah, along those lines, one of my professors this semester had us fill out a little sheet with information about ourselves, and one of the questions asked what our favorite band/music was. I, obviously, just answered "COLDPLAY!!!" The next time we had class she mentioned to me that I was the only one in the class who definitively answered that question by putting down one band or artist. And then I guess she started picking up on my Viva bag I got at one of the shows this summer that I use for my books for class and the Coldplay t-shirts I tend to wear quite often, because yesterday when she picked me to stand up in front of the class to give a presentation, she was like, "Come on, you can advertise Coldplay!" How could I say no to that? :D

In other news, the bread I was eating for the last 5 minutes as I typed this is stale. I just realized. Oops. :inquisitive:

Is it WXPN in Philly? I used to listen to them all the time.

No, WMMR is doing it. But XPN is a great station, though.

i'd pay coldplay to play a cover of eva cassidy's version of "fields of gold".

Yes! Another? How many have you presented to him? And how? .

Just one, curiously enough. It's a long tale, from some time ago..

But I've been experimenting again on a piano keyboard, and getting some interesting patterns - just always sidetracked it seems with life in general. I suppose I will keep improving it, and maybe someday record it.?

i have the red viva la vida one and now the pink heart one, but if they had come out with the white and black DAAHF one at the same time as the other two, i would have gotten that one without question! i like it because it's not so obviously a band t-shirt (not that i have any problem with band t-shirts :D), and it's kind of artsy. i plan on picking that one up when i see them in NJ

i'm just a band-tshirt whore :dozey:

Heehee, I just ordered the DAAHF one online the other day.

Aw, I would like to hear the tale if you get time. Maybe just the short version?

.

I hear three different Coldplay song in one week on TV! First The Scientist, Then Fix you in a movie and the Viva La Vida instrumental for another commercial, and the weird part was even though it was just short clips I got goosebumps all over me when I heard them!

And as you know I am not listening to Coldplay until the concert and I have a very big problem with letting any songs by them out of my head, haha. Everytime I hear a WORD from one of their songs I start to sing!

I watching some documentary on TV about ocean and there were some yellow fishes. And I started to sing: "they were all yellow!"

we're in an apartment right now, but when i get into a house, i'm TOTALLY painting the VIVA symbol on my wall.

not eugene delacriox's painting, the one on the font of coldplay's site! :laugh4:!!

i was looking at my friend's photos on facebook when i saw this one. i went like :cheesy: when i looked to the left:

oooh yeah. i just was surprised that there was STILL one right in the middle of manhattan. i figured there would have been at least one in june, but all the way in september?

i saw the ron sexsmith video for "gold in them hills" for the first time today (thank you, youtube).

firstly, i didn't even know there was a video of this song.

secondly, i didn't know chris was actually in it. i thought he just provided a few verses and that was it. though you can tell the scenes with chris were just edited into the video. looks like they were shot in the hallway of a hotel. :D

we've got to write a character reference as a task in cambridge class.

however, we're supposed to write a reference for a friend who wants to teach english abroad.

i came up with a fictional friend of mine: william buckland.

To whom it may concern

Reference for William Buckland

I am writing to you on behalf of William Buckland, whom I have known for eight years now.

William is a broad-minded, creative yet down-to-earth anglophile who spends most of his time taking part in a youth group he has been leading for nearly three years now. He is a great role model to the younger members of the group because of his fun character and his genuine personality. In addition to being considerate and tactful, William is always ready to help. One of his siblings is physically handicapped, so he learned to lend a hand at a very young age. He would never abandon a member of his family or any of his friends.

I became aware of his astonishing English skills when we were class mates back in school. For this reason, he would be perfect to teach English because it has been his dream ever since he was little. Furthermore, he has always been a brilliant organiser due to his job as the head of his youth group. He has come up with several excellent ideas in the past, such as getting involved with relief organisations, which made the youngsters of his group aware of famine and poverty in general. He managed to combine both helping and having fun and raised a great amount of money. Aside from his wealth of ideas to make people feel better, he accomplished to set up everything on his own.

I am of the opinion that William would certainly do an outstanding job teaching English, supervising children and organising activities. I have no hesitation in recommending him to you.

Yours faithfully,

Grace Stephanie Bönsel

^ You have to be over 18 years old.

my friend goes to college in DC, and she just told me that she and 7 of her friends SOMEHOW just secured 8 tickets together for coldplay's show on oct. 31! i'm quite excited for her because she's not the largest coldplay fan yet loves "viva la vida" (the song) to death, so i think this might open a whole door of coldplayness for her. i'm working on burning her a CD right now of the songs that they've been tending to play so she can learn all the words before she goes.

but really. how come me, the ticketmaster master, would NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS be able to secure more than 3 tickets at one time anywhere for a concert, yet a complete novice signs on and snaps up 8?

I was staring in a window today waiting for the owner of the shop to return and fairly oblivious to the fact that he had returned. And next thing I know Im hearing the VLV album. Needless to say I spent a lot of my lunch break in there before he asked me if I finally made up my mind. He was pretty cool and knew I was looking for a gift for my cousin's wedding, so perhaps Coldplay had some sorta influence on what I picked out for her and her husband to be :)

I heard the ending of DAAHF on the TV in my bedroom and I literally jumped out of my chair and ran in to see what show was on, and it was The Hills:dozey:

I forgot I had MTV on, but oh well, great song!

It's my first gig of COLDPLAY today ! And my first single "Clocks" is in my bag with my tickets !

My random Coldplay thought is that people should check out MY music on myspace, it kinda sounds slightly like coldplay! And I'm on the Coldplaying Charity CD too!

Nothing like cheap self-promotion huh??

Ooh :surprised:

Have fun  it's sure to be awesome
