Chris Martin Launches Fat Fury On MoP

Featured Replies

Coldplay rocker Chris Martin was so furious when he found himself faced with a critical member of the public, he unleashed an astonishing tirade on her appearance and excess weight.

The Clocks star admits he was an "arsehole" to launch such a personal attack on the unimpressed woman. He says, "When someone insults you to your face about your music, the first thing you want to do is pick on something about their appearance. "It's a terrible thing but I had this woman parked outside our house.

She drove me so crazy that I advised her to go to Weight Watchers, which was not a very nice thing to say. "I'm not proud of it but it's weird how if you sort of feel like you're being attacked you can become a real arsehole."

Ouch.

Yep... he's said sometimes he doesn't think before he speaks... :wreck:

wow! i think it was actually pretty normal for chris or any other to say that coz personally id say the same thing...yeah when you're angry you really dunno what you are saying....but it wasnt nice at all!

Its kinda funny and the woman was being rude to him...but I guess someone in Chris' situation (world famous) cant really afford to say things like that really.

 - I agree with you all though. But I kinda laughed when I first saw it. But yeah, that is a lil mean...

Haha, when I looked at the title I thought he called her a "fat ass bitch" or something really insulting. :laugh3: Weight Watchers isn't that bad. :laugh3:

I couldn't blame him in the slightest... What are you meant to do when someone is insulting you? Smile politely and agree??

Chris Martin apologises to insulted critic

Chris Martin has apologised to a critic, whom he told to "go to Weight Watchers".

The woman turned up at his Belsize Park home in London to verbally attack Coldplay, when Martin delivered the cruel comment.

He said: “When someone insults you to your face about your music, the first thing you want to do is pick on something about their appearance. It’s a terrible thing but I had this woman parked outside our house.

“I would never say it to anyone else, but she drove me so crazy that I advised her to go to Weight Watchers, which was not a very nice thing to say. I’m not proud of it, but it’s weird how if you sort of feel like you’re being attacked you can become a real arsehole.”

Oh he's such a cutie. He's one of those guys who are ashamed for weeks if they call someone a "jerk" or something like that :P There's nothing wrong with insulting a person who's being mean and stupid.. But I understand that people in public shouldn't do it - but hey, Russel Crowe etc beat up journalists, he just wanted to help this woman to find a place where she can lose weight :D There's nothing wrong with that ;)

Why is everyone on Chris's side? Just because somebody insults your music doesn't mean you have to lower yourself to their level (arguably lower) and insult them about their weight. Chris should no better.

"Such a cutie"? "Poor Chris"? Please - like he said on Denton, he was being an asshole. If he really wanted to protect his family he'd learn a bit of self control.

Don't get me wrong, I've got a lot of respect for the man. But saying that to somebody is just unacceptable.

Btw, though, he does show remorse, so again respect for that. I'm just mildly disagreeing with any justification of that kind of behaviour (btw, it's no different for the lady - if she wasn't exactly being polite, then she isn't exactly behaving well either).

Just my two cents :)

hmm that is mean, shouldnt really be mean about peoples appearance to argue back, but well if she started it,she deserves the comment

I'd have said worse.

Good thing I'm not famous.

Chris really shouldn't have said that being a public figure, but who goes to someone's house just to verbally attack them? What was she hoping on accomplishing by that? That lunatic had it coming :laugh4:

 I want Chris to tell me to go on Weight Watchers.

i think i no a way to make it all better.

a signed copy of "trouble" should do the trick dont ya think??? :)

This is so funny and sad at the same time! But it's more funny than sad :laugh3:

I also guess that the conversation could have gone in many different ways, so we don't know the details, and shouldn't be so quick to judge.

For example, one could go:

Lady: *knocks on Chris's door*

Chris: Hello, who are you?

Lady: I hate your tuneless music. All your songs sound the same and I have more talent in the shadow of my toenail than you do in your whole band!

Chris: I'm sorry you feel that way. Oh and by the way, have you ever thought of trying a great program called Weight Watchers? I think it may boost your self esteem. Thanks for informing me on your opinion. Would you like a signed picture?

OR:

Lady: *knocks on Chris's door*

Chris: Hello, who are you?

Lady: I hate your tuneless music. All your songs sound the same and I have more talent in the shadow of my toenail than you do in your whole band!

Chris: GET OFF MY PROPERTY YOU FAT ASS AND BOOT IT TO WEIGHT WATCHERS CLINIC - YOU NEED IT! I'M CALLING THE COPS FOR TRESPASSING YOU BITCH!!!!!!

Well he's only human and he chose the obvious thing to insult her about! If she was slagging me off I probably would have as well.

Hahahah, good one!! :laugh3: :laugh3:

Agree on that! Whatever this woman is doing at his house, she needed to be put in her place... and although he insulted her, he did it in a nice way... I would say she deserved every word of it... and I would have added "Now, get a life!"
