Come on United, put the match fixers back where they belong....

...Out of the champion's league.

Today I saw a kid wear a Bayern jersey...hehe I thought that was interesting. :P

I guess he's keeping that Bayern spirit going, despite their lose against AC Milan.

Boa, what a brilliant game! I never had any doubts that they would miss the semi-final. They did amazingly well, although a lot of good players were injured. Miro Klose is definitely a football God! The fourth goal was absolutely wonderful.

What a season so far... We already won the Ligue-Cup, we are 2nd in the most exciting Bundesliga season ever (12 teams are playing against the relegation and 4 teams to reach the top of the table) and now we also reached the semi-final in the UEFA-Cup. :nice:

ya great season for Bremen...so sad Bayern went home:cry:

Chelsea is gonna win the champions trophy, they have the best team of all. Drogba is a fantastic forward, the best in the entire football world, so as Robben and Joe Cole. And they also have Lampard and Essien. The Final is gonna be Manchester v/s Chelsea.

bye

No.

No.

:laugh3: Agreed!

I'm not a Chelsea fan at all. >.< Sorry. Thumbs down for Chelsea!

isnt robben out for both legs?

essien's definitely banned for the first leg and theres lots of chelsea players on two yellow cards.

anyway i think liverpool's got a decent chance to make it to the final!

i wish united and liverpool played

seconded

man united/ liverpool final all the way, with liverpool winning the cup!

I bet the Greece police will love an Liverpool/Man Utd final

Milan will win it. Man Utd have already peaked, Milan will teach them a lesson like they did in 2005! It'll be a Milan/Liverpool rematch in the final. It's 2005 all over again! This time the right team will win though and Milan will get their 7th European cup!

Man Utd v AC Milan

Champions League semi-final, 1st leg

Date: Tuesday, 24 April

Kick-off: 1945 BST

Venue: Old Trafford

Referee: Kyros Vassaras (Greece)

Listen: BBC Radio Five Live

Updates: BBC Sport website and mobile

Manchester United have been hit by an injury crisis ahead of Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against AC Milan at Old Trafford.

Only 10 outfield players were able to take part in full training on Monday.

Defenders Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic, Mikael Silvestre and Craig Cathcart will definitely miss the game, while Patrice Evra is doubtful.

If Evra misses out, Darren Fletcher is set to fill in at right-back, with Wes Brown and John O'Shea in the centre.

Left-back Gabriel Heinze is United's only other fit defender.

Midfielders Ji-Sung Park and Kieran Richardson will miss the game, along with striker Louis Saha.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was unable to train on Monday but is expected to be fit to take his place on the bench.

In contrast to United, AC Milan were able to rest a host of players for their league match on Saturday.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti has a virtually fully-fit squad available, with striker Alberto Gilardino returning after suspension.

Keeper Dida has been included in the squad but is a doubt with a shoulder injury, while Ronaldo is cup-tied.

Ancelotti was encouraged by the news that Ferdinand will not feature at Old Trafford but is wary of United's attacking threat.

"Ferdinand is a very important player for their defence," he said.

"But we will have to be careful and keep possession of the ball but that could be a two-edged sword, because if we do not do well our opponents could hit us on the counter-attack."

We do not fear Milan - Ferguson

Ferguson expects a good performance from his team

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says his side will have no fears when they face AC Milan in their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday.

United are missing some key players through injury for the Old Trafford tie but Ferguson has faith in his squad.

"I don't have any fears about it," he said. "The mood in the camp pleases me.

"At this time of year you are always looking for signs of nerves and, while we have concerns about the injuries, I don't see any nerves."

United are without Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Nemanja Vidic, Mikael Silvestre, Craig Cathcart, Louis Saha, Ji-Sung Park and Kieran Richardson for the first leg.

Patrice Evra is only likely to be fit enough to make the bench, which could also feature the likes of Chris Eagles, Fang Zhou Dong, Kieran Lee and Michael Barnes.

Ferguson added: "It is not going to be an easy but the name of the game in these situations is to win and not lose a goal.

"That is our plan and, if we can achieve it, it would be a massive result for us.

"All the big players are available. The only problem I have is maybe having an adequate bench, but I'm happy with the squad I've got.

"Obviously you miss players like Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville in big matches but the spirit is good.

"We should expect a very good performance with the players we have."

United beat Roma 7-1 in their last Champions League match at Old Trafford but while Ferguson says he does not expect a repeat against AC Milan, he is hopeful of a victory.

"At this level, with the players we have, there is always going to be expectation," he said.

"The desire of the players is to reach a higher level. The quality of the opposition and the importance of the occasion demand the best performance.

"The performance in the last round was very, very good and that must give the players confidence.

"But it is difficult to think we can get to that standard. That was a once-in-a-lifetime result.

"But, with the players we have, we should still expect a very good performance.

"They haven't done much wrong this season. The team spirit has got better because the group is getting to know each other.

"The important players are playing and it's good to have them."

One of those, newly-crowned PFA Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo, will again be centre of attention, pitting his talent against another contender for best player in the world, the Brazilian Kaka.

Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti refused to be drawn on who is the best player.

"I agree they are among the top of their profession at the moment but it's extremely difficult to say who is the best," he stated.

"That will be decided by the player who manages to determine the outcome of the game and who is ready to play for the team."

Ancelotti has only one injury worry, over keeper Dida, with Zeljko Kalac standing by if the Brazilian fails to overcome a shoulder problem.

Ancelotti was able to rest his key players on Saturday and is confident of putting on a better show than compatriots Roma.

"We are certain we can do well," he added. "There isn't any worry, just a great respect for the team we are going to play.

"Certainly the adrenaline will increase before the game but at the moment we are perfectly relaxed."

Paolo Maldini, who will be playing in his eighth Champions League semi-final, says Milan have no plans to assign a man to mark Ronaldo.

He said: "We do not man-mark, we have a different way of marking.

"Ronaldo moves around a lot so he will be picked up by whoever is close to him.

"Ronaldo is fast, strong and scores goals. He is good in the air and extremely inventive.

"While I may not be as fast as I once was, I can still get around the pitch."

Uefa are investigating why Vassaras has suddenly got an extra €50,000 in it, a payment made by some bloke from AC Milan...
