I agree that Hair Metal was just fucking horrendous.

The Darkness are lame. Those are the type of falsetto's I can actually sing because they are pretty much making fun of themselves. (I wonder if that's on purpose )

"Just listen to the rhythm of the heart"

*gets gun out to shot any darkness supporters*

They were good in 2003, but took so long to do 2nd album which was frankly one of the worst albums i had to review when I was covering someone on a local newspaper last year.

The first album had some good songs on it, shame about the band being noobs

i like The Darkness they are cool

"Can't explain all the feelings you making me feeeeeell....."

Hahhaa.....that's the only song I liked by them...in school we immitated their voices and sang through the school hall...this was funny...:P

*cough* i still listen to 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' *cough*

Darkness singer in rehab clinic

Justin Hawkins has gone to the Priory rehab clinic for a rest

The lead singer of rock music band The Darkness has checked himself into the Priory rehabilitation clinic.

The band said Suffolk-born Justin Hawkins was suffering from exhaustion after three years of non-stop work.

The singer, famous for his lycra suits and high-pitched vocals, led the band onto the pop scene in 2003 and they shot to the top with their debut album.

Bass player Frankie Poullain left as they compiled a second record and sales were widely regarded as disappointing.

Now Justin Hawkins has checked into the Priory rehab clinic where Babyshambles singer Pete Doherty is also a patient.

In a statement a spokesman for The Darkness said Mr Hawkins had been told to rest after three years of non-stop work.

The spokesman also answered reports about difficulties experienced in recording the band's second album by saying their label is now looking forward to releasing a third album early next year.

The Darkness plan new album

Band deny being dropped by label

The Darkness are working on a new album, set to be released in early 2007.

In a statement on their official websiteThedarknessrock.com the band have refuted claims they were dropped by their record label Atlantic, following singer Justin Hawkins' entrance into rehab treatment facility The Priory last week.

The statement reads: "As everybody found out today, Justin has been admitted to a rehabilitation clinic. We would however like to make it clear that this emphatically does not signal the end for The Darkness nor are their label Atlantic Records considering 'dropping' them.

"On the contrary they have taken up their option with the band and are looking forward to releasing The Darkness' third album in early 2007.

"We are not here to comment on Justin's private life - or anyone else's for that matter - but he is feeling better already and as soon as he is ready we will be going straight into the studio to being recording album number three."

There is currently no date for the album's release.

Good News Everyone...

...Justin Hawkins quits The Darkness

Drink and drug addicition forces the singer out of the comedy band.

The Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins has quit the band to recover from drink and drug addictions.

The singer has decided to call it a day following a stint in The Priory rehab clinic in London.

"I feel bad for the others (in the band)," he told The Sun newspaper. "It will be an upheaval. But it's time for me to move on. It would be damaging to my recovery to stay on. I'm not blaming the band for my problem - I am an addict. There are people who can be in bands and stay clean, but I'm not one of them."

Despite his decision to quit, Hawkins said that the band will carry on without him, with bassist Richie Edwards, who replaced former band member Frankie Poullain, taking over the vocal duties.

According to the singer, his addiction to cocaine over the last few years became so bad that he was spending over a £1,000 a week on the drug.

"I feel like I've lost three years of my life. I'm only just coming to terms with what has happened because I was always off my face," he explained. "I became secretive, volatile and verbally abusive, a really unpleasant person to be around."

Hawkins added that he considered quitting The Darkness last year before the band set off on a world tour, but carried on before entering rehab in August.

The singer said he will now concentrate on helping Chris Martin to record the as-yet untitled 4th Coldplay album.

the edit was funny after it was stated that it was edited, before that i was thinking 'bloody hell, no way is that true....?' lol

i liked the darkness for a full month when they first came out, after their second song i really wasn't interested. after hearing he dissed coldplay, chris in particular, i really didn't care much about the band and, especially justin hawkins. it was all a big joke anyway, entertaining but still a joke.

I had a friend who became obsessed with them. I couldnt believe it!:laugh4:

She later woke up from the dream. I only liked one of their songs, lol. But yeah, after I heard him trash talking Coldplay...I lost interest.
