:rolleyes:Is static electricity involved?:P Shocked at, or by, what?

You thought you might be a ghost,

You thought you might be a ghost

You didn't get to heaven but you made it close

You didn't get to heaven but you oh, oh....

and tell me, did you fall from a shooting star, one without a permanent scar, did you find that heaven is overrated, and the lights are all faded..

If God didn't have a sense of humor he wouldn't have created Josh.

Heaven is a halfpipe?? (escaping)

Hmm?

Well, to me it's quite simple - the nest we live in is the nest we all live in, and we had better make it comfy, unless we want to live in a malcontent brood.

It's a wheel, this thing called life, and we roll along, along with the other wheels, and when one wheel goes flat, another takes to the road. Life's a wheel - let me roll it to ya.. Time spins, life cycles, ideas flow and ebb with the rising and falling tides of change.

The motion we set in play sets up the next motion, and so on.. So, make some good waves!

like I've said before.. I am Christian

We all know Frodo is a troll, a notion, but this form of proselytizing deserves a more rational examination, as appears time and again in the world. Here's how I feel about what Frodo selects from the Bible:

1. We are all born self-interested, and have a need to learn compassion, selflessness, and empathy. To balance our own interests with those of our family, and the interests of the larger group, and to be appropriate. To say "sin" is to not truly understand our nature, and that instead of calling it "sin", to me it is that we sometimes fall into a self-interested or frustrated/insecure/egotistical mode which ultimately hurts the common good, the good of others, and thus diminishes human potential. We are in need of good sound examples and reasoned arguments for behaving in more thoughtful manners. More example stories of actions and outcomes - Take the story of King Midas, for example. The sum of our choices and actions is the outcome we see. And it's the best hope for a favorable outcome - no guarantees!

2. Instead of the fear-mongering approach that goes as follows: 'you are a SINNER, submit to the great GOD, beg for forgiveness, and believe exclusively in the one perfect example set forth in this novel, or else..', think instead about actions and outcomes, about feeling for others, about walking in the footsteps of the other person. Think about which actions might have better outcomes to increase our shared happiness, or to make better a bad situation. This absolutism and fear-based approach lends itself to abuse by those bent on controlling others, and doesn't address the true nature of our social contract with one-another.

Adam and Eve - well, if the Universe is God, then we were given brains to decipher the true nature of the Universe. The Bible is just filling in the blanks here - the creation myth is poetic, allegorical, and non-scientific. Perhaps it's merely a reflection on our youthful nature - we are born innocent and curious, and along with knowledge comes pain and realization of the sometimes harsh realities of life. To be cast out of the garden when we taste knowledge is to begin to learn, and face the real world.

Once again, the absolute is to drive one to belief at the point of a spear. If heaven is the world in which we live, then perhaps the choices we make affect the outcome for all, and it is here that matters - for our sake, and for our childrens' sake, and for each and every subsequent generation that follows. The wages of excess selfishness is social dysfunction, not 'sin = death'. Logic must trump fear, if we are to advance.

Wow, even one little lie will condemn a person to eternal hell, unless we beg to be pardoned, and believe 100% in Jesus as lord and savior? How about learning the "what comes around, goes around" thing, and that lying to get something cheapens the agreement of fair play in society, thus if one is expecting to be treated fairly by others, how then can one not treat others fairly in like kind? We all make mistakes, and as we grow we learn. But it's ridiculous in my mind to think that I have to believe that even the tiniest of lies cannot be understood and forgiven, with the understanding of why it's wrong. And to force someone to either submit to a belief in one perfect person or be cast into eternal hell is a draconian tool - the stuff of extremists. Better to be concerned with the effects of lying, learning to be thoughtful and fair with others, and apologizing and making amends when one has told a lie. Also understanding the reason one lies helps one be more honest, as the lie does harm that reflects back on the liar, and ultimately weakens our social networks.

ARE YOU 100% SURE THAT IF YOU DIED TODAY THAT YOU WOULD GO TO HEAVEN?

There are some things that you should know:

1. Realize that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior:

Ro 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

Ro 3:10 "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:"

This all began with the story of Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. God created them perfect, there was no death or sorrow. God told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They disobeyed God and as a result, sin entered into the world. The pain which this world sees is the result of sin.

2. Because of our sins, we die both spiritually and physically, but God sent His Son to die so that you can have a chance not to have to go to hell by accepting what He did on the cross for you:

Ro 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Ro 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. for us."

Every person who has ever lived is a sinner and is not righteous because we do bad things. A sin is a crime against God, just as if you steal something at the store, it is punishable by going to jail. It's the same thing with sin. Even if we lie one time, the punishment is hell, which is a prison for those who commit crimes against God. No matter how well you live your life from then on, you have already committed a sin which will be punished if you are not pardoned. If you commit a crime, and then live as a good citizen you still will go to jail for the crime you committed. Right? Just as the president can pardon a crime so you won't go to jail, Jesus can pardon your sins so that you do not go to hell, and can go to heaven when you die.

3. If you will confess to Jesus Christ that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior, except Him as Lord and Savior and believe in your heart that He died on the cross and rose from the dead you will be saved.

Ro 10:9,10 "that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.."

Joh 1:12 Joh 1:12 “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”

You cannot get to heaven by being a good person, going to church, baptism or any other way other than by turning to Jesus and asking Him to forgive you for your sins and save you. While these are good things to do, some people believe that they will get to heaven if they do these things, but the bible says that there is only one way to heaven and that is through receiving what Jesus Christ did on the cross for you.

Will you do that today? If you will, you can be 100% sure that you will go to heaven when you die.

Do you believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead for your sins? Are you willing to turn from your sins to Jesus Christ for Salvation?

4. If you are willing to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior please pray this prayer to God from your heart:

"Dear LORD JESUS, I believe that YOU died on the Cross and Rose from the dead for my sins. I ask you to come into my heart and forgive me for my sins, take me to heaven when I die. I now receive You as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus holy name, Amen."

If you prayed that prayer from your heart to God, and meant it with all of your heart, you are now a child of God and will go to heaven when you die.

Now that you are on your way to heaven, you should attend a bible believing church and follow in baptism.

and tell me, did you fall from a shooting star, one without a permanent scar, did you find that heaven is overrated, and the lights are all faded..
