Oh... hel-lo.

FAO xfrodobagginsx: Please, just fuck off and take your pathetic beliefs with you.

Might I add that YOU DO NOT NEED RELIGION TO BE A GOOD PERSON.

Dear Frodobagahjdfgadsg, I understand what you're trying to say as I'm a Christian and I appreciate your efforts but you just might, or more specifically are, going about it the wrong way.

I'm just telling people publically and allowing them to decide for themselves to accept Christ. The disciples and Christ Himself witnessed out in the streets, I think I can post a tract that folks can privately read if they want to.

I'm not trying to bash you or anything, I just would like to ask you something since it seems you are very passionate about this and would have a better answer than some random person I may ask about this.

What do you believe happens to people who do not believe in (what happened to) Christ? I mean, if they believe that Christ existed, but not necessarily believe what happened to him? What do you believe happens to people/souls of other religions? What do you believe happenend to the people/souls that lived and died before Christ was born?

Believe in what you want, as long as you don't harm anyone...

Oh well, I don't care anyway. Hooray for deism :awesome:

I'm curious if he actually has any proof "God" exists, I think it's great for people to have decent morality and if Religion helps to instill this then great, personally I think it's a load of rubbish.

You can't prove God exists. On the other side, you can't prove he doesn't. It's a deadlocked situation :dozey:

deism isn't apathetic or relativist.

Science has proof without any certainty. Creationists have certainty without

any proof.

Well, but if there's a god, then I believe he doesn't care about us.

I'm torn between deism and agnosticism

Agnosticism and deism do not totally exclude each other.

Agnosticism though is a more reasonable, objective and scientific attitude that shows that the discussion of "if there is God or not" is stupid and useless since its not even a scientific question and therefore it cannot be proved or refuted. It only belongs to the personal beliefs field and since an hypothetical God cannot express himself/herself in a strong manner in our world, saying "HELLO, I AM HERE", then he or she exists probably doesn't mind or care if we believe in that kind of things or not. Like you just said, he doesn't care about us.

Well, that's how I see it.

Well, but if there's a god, then I believe he doesn't care about us.

I get that, but deist's replace religious faith with faith in reason so one shouldn't be content with a 'whatever floats your boat' attitude.

I'm torn between deism and agnosticism

deism is basically theistic agnosticism in that one acknowledges a God based on observation of the natural world, but its nature is ambiguous and incomprehensible. Obviously there will always be limits to one's knowledge, but I guess the obvious starting block is, 'what viable argument/evidencedo you see for the existence of God?

Wrong. It's the other way around. Creationists and Evolutionists look at the same evidence, yet come to differing conclusions. Evolutionists hide and manipulate data to convince you of their theory. You are only hearing one side of the story. What if in a court case the prosecution was the only one allowed to present his case? What would the conviction rate be? What happens after the defense presents it's case? It sheds light on places that the prosecution didn't want you to know. The creationists aren't allowed to present their side of the case, so of course you are going to think that they are looney. You don't know their side of the story. Do a little research and see for yourself.

HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN:

1. Die.

2. Follow the white light.

3. Voila.

Note: I find it best not to over-analyze one's beliefs. Some people see God in the world. Some people see his absence. Some people don't understand religion. That's all good and fine.

I only have issues with fanatical atheists and fanatical religious people.

so right.

I've always thought of this thread as like, how to get there, like which sort of transport to use. :uhoh:

To answer you questions, according to what the bible actually says, those who don't place their faith in Christ for salvation go to hell for eternity. That's why Jesus Christ came in the first place, to save us from our sins because He doesn't want us to go to hell. If we reject His gift of salvation, then we have to pay for our own crimes against God (sins) by going to ;prison (hell).

As far as those who lived before Christ died on the cross, Judaism was the way to God at that time. Those who trusted in the Lord were saved. The sacrifices that they performed covered their sins and were a picture of Christ's blood that was shed on the cross.

If there were any other way for us to be saved, Jesus Christ wouldn't have had to die on the cross. Take the time to read this first post. It explains salvation and why we need it pretty clearly. If you have any more questions, please ask. May the Lord lead you to the truth.

You really believe that I would waste this much time and effort here if I didn't truly believe in Christ Jesus and His word? Come on man. God has touched my life in a real, tangible way to where I have no doubt about His reality and the fact that every word in the bible is true. If that's so, then I MUST tell people how they can be saved from going to hell by accepting Jesus Christ into their hearts as Lord and Savior of their lives. This is the reality of it. I wish hell didn't really exist and I could go on living a carefree life, but that's not the case.

Don't make me laugh. Creationists have more than a chance in the academic arena, it's just that their theories are utter crackpottery.
