i have it, but i don't really have access to a scanner :\

i can try this week, though. i've been meaning to do it. i just need permission to borrow my roommate's scanner, and she's always out, sleeping, or using it.

Awsome! that be great, thanks!

Like everyone else, I'm certain this is not the official tracklist. It has Violet Hill and no Famous Old Painters (or Escapist) for one thing. Plus, I'm pretty sure there'll either be at least 1 new track or renamed track the band have kept from us.

The official announcement of Tracklisting/Artwork for X&Y was on 4/4/05, so by that metric, we can't get too upset at not having official word for at least one or two more weeks...

I really hope it's more than 9 tracks. 11 is usually a good number, as long as none of them are instrumental. I hate when a band comes out with like a 16 song album and like 4 or 5 of the songs are instrumental.

Awww man. I really hope this is wrong, I was looking forward to Lost! and especially Famous Old Painters. Glass of Water too. This kind of suckx, I dont want to have to get a million b-sides and singles, I wish they would just release more songs on the album. X&Y was the best one in my opinion and it had 13 full-length songs.

Well,

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but one of the knocks on X&Y was that it was too long and/or "draggy", so maybe the concise length of the new album is in part a reaction to that.

I hope it has more than 9 tracks !

This cannot be true,

when you consider that HMV has the album advertised for pre-order as "Prospekt".

it is no coincidence that the tracks are in the same order here as they were in the rolling stone article... this is 100% completely fake. also, im back in my 'REALLY PISSED AT COLDPLAY' mode. i mean prospekt cant just say things like 'the album should be done by the end of this week' and 'ill post the tracklisting when its finalized... it should be finalized today' and then NOT follow up with a post a week and a half later. I am SOOOOO sick of getting every bit of information from other sources and then all guessing about whether it is true or not. Prospekt and the rest of them obviously know this is going on so i dont see why they dont just tell us THEMSELVES. seriously i think we've waited long enough!!!!!!!!

i'm done..... for now.

lol. Well put.

Agree with EVRYTHING you just said man.

xo

Agh-bagh-grah.

I feel like shooting Prospekt in the face now unfortunately. MEET DEADLINES DURNIT.

I don't really care. I'm not hanging on their every word.

Just be chiiiilllll man, go with the flow, roll with the tide.

Be patient, be cool.

If you let go of all this right now, you'll feel so much better. Just wait and when you get it you'll feel okaaaaaaay.

To be frank, the band seems IMHO to already be providing more information then a lot of others would. Most bands don't say anything about a new release except for a generic press release a few months before the drop date that is written by the label as opposed to the band. At least Coldplay seems to want to share information on the ongoing process as they work on it.

The bad thing is, it's really a no win scenerio for the band, as if they say nothing people will bitch that they're not releasing any info, whereas if they try to keep their fans updated on the work in progress, people bitch that things get changed from time to time and that the updates don't come fast enough...

It seems to me the band is trying to keep fans "in the loop" as much as possible, it's a shame some of the fans can't be as gracious...(but that's just my opinion)

I'm waiting for 3 records in '08, U2, Oasis, and Coldplay, and of the three, Coldplay has been providing updates at every stage of the prcess, whereas the other two bands have released little to nothing on their forthcoming releases. As I said above, some of you guys need to get a little perspective...

Im tired of waiting...

Please prospekt please please please

I'm naturally impatient when it comes to something I value, so I am being impatient AND appreciating. :snobby:

Perhaps you are...

I was merely pointing out that if Coldplay really didn't care about sharing information with their fans, they wouldn't have bothered to post any updates at all. I just wanted to add perspective to the issue, since the band in fact has offered more updates on their recording process then most, and many people seem incapable or unwilling to acknowledge this.

Please note that I was merely bullshitting everyone, therefore, you have fallen for it hook line and sinker

There will likely be a hidden track, which means there will be 8 or 9 tracks left over. If the album has only 9 songs on it, I can't see Coldplay releasing more than 2 singles, but those two singles could contain 3 or 4 b-sides each. REMEMBER : If there's one thing I've learned with Coldplay over the years it's that they're obviously not going to release every track they recorded during the VLVODAAHF sessions. No-one's mentioned 'Rainy Day' and 'Lost!' for a while, it's possible we might not hear these, they'll be at least two songs that prospekt mentioned that we'll likely never hear. Although, there will, without a doubt be new songs performed on tour. It'll add up to about the same amount of tracks released during AROBTTH (incl. b-sides) about 18 songs, just presented in a different way. I'm sure the album will be fookin ace though! =)

I'm abit dubious about this 9 track album.

to me, that's not an album.

when was the last time that an album had less than 10 tracks?

(not including metallica, who feel the need to play 7 40minute solo's in each of their songs)

It's not an album.

Even darius danesh's first single had 6 tracks on it.

(note: I didn't buy it, I saw it in the shop and made a mental note to grow a pony tail like his)

:)

"road to rouen" by supergrass has only 9 songs and it's a brilliant album.

but all i'm gonna say to this is... you people will always find something to moan about (title sucks, tracklist sucks, blah...) so i won't even bother to argue. :P

While I agree with you 100% about the fact that Coldplay has gone above and beyond what other bands would do, in regards to the blog entries. It's an ingenious idea that other bands SHOULD adopt. It gives a great insight albeit through a 'behind the scenes' type look at the whole process, and makes for a better connection between us and the fellas.

But you have to understand that we are DIE HARD Coldplay fans. When you feel so passionate about something and you're given little tidbits like the Prospekt entries, it can mean the world to a fan. this is the ONLY place we have to chat with other dyed in the wool Coldplay fans. I would whole hearted disagree about it being "bitching", and chalk it up to mere impatience.

But I will give you that we do need a LITTLE bit of perspective. We aren't in the studio, we don't know what's going on. Whenever I start to feel really really impatient, I think of that Bono quote that Chris mentions often, about bands breaking up over tracklisting.
