April 5, 200818 yr Coldplay's new album preview interview @ Rollingstone.com! http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/19830818/page/35 There are no preview tracks though, just Chris discussing about the album.. here's the except from the article: 'Coldplay Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends 6/17 For their fourth album, Coldplay enlisted producer Brian Eno to broaden their palette beyond the piano-heavy anthems the band is best known for: "Strawberry Swing" includes Afro-pop guitars, "42" is a three-part epic built on glitchy loops and "Yes!" mixes Middle Eastern percussion with Chris Martin's newfound deep-register vocals. "It's impossible to please everybody, and it took us a while to learn that," says Martin, adding that he credits Eno, who has made records with U2 and the Talking Heads, with helping the band leave its comfort zone. "You have to stop caring about what you're known for," says Martin. "So even if it's shit, at least it's brave." ' There is an audio interview on the page as well, so check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkWJCMGuIv4
April 5, 200818 yr Is this brand new!? Awesome! "You have to stop caring about what you're known for," says Martin. "So even if it's shit, at least it's brave." Great quote right there!
April 5, 200818 yr The audio is new deffo. His voice sounds sooooo deep. It might be a distortion though.
April 5, 200818 yr whooaaaaaaaaaaaaa, chris sounds different!!! it sounds like it's slowed down a little! what happened to his voice?! that does not sound normal. thanks a million! LOWER VOICE FTW. i think that has to be audio distortion, though. that's not normal, unless he was really sick for a while or something.
April 5, 200818 yr It must be a distortion, cos the other guy sounds weird too. He's far too hypo to speak so slow :P
April 5, 200818 yr Hell yeah! Its good to hear Chris is alive and well. And he does sound a lot more mature, doesn't he? And that X&Y comment about plagerising themselves... theres definitely some truth in that. That low voice thing was hilarious though.
April 5, 200818 yr It's so exciting to finally hear one of them talking about the new album. Hopefully we'll somehow get to hear the whole recording of that interview at some point!
April 5, 200818 yr "a lot more to steal from than you realised." it's so weird to actually hear them talking about it. it felt like it's just a rumour that they're going to release something until now.
April 5, 200818 yr I'm so sure Phil is Prospekt now - Chris mentioning that it was "the seven of us" in the studio.
April 5, 200818 yr Sounds like someone's been having fun with the pitch shifter! I thought it was Kele from Bloc Party at first. If anyone wants I could upload a "normal" sounding interview for you.

April 5, 200818 yr Before I go, here's the interview at normal speed: http://www.sendspace.com/file/3k4ciu I figured out that it sounds slow in Internet Explorer, but it plays fine in Firefox. Enjoy! :nice:
April 5, 200818 yr argh, for some reason the little audioplayer thing won't appear when i open it in firefox. firefox hates me; it NEVER works right! i think i'll DL that clip you posted. thanks!
April 5, 200818 yr Chris discusses effect of his singing of low on his voice teacher: well i don't think that this is something special to make a very great big thing about it,or to gaze about like amazed. no because Low is my favorite track on X&Y album and i like really some lines lyrically which i think the best in some disappointed times, and it really gives you some hope, it has an astounding effect as they think as it has on their voice teacher not only she , that has on me too, i bet every other person has too, for such a beautiful song it is. i don't understand in making any big deal about it.(i am not at all jealous Chris!:P)
April 5, 200818 yr Probably has a bit of a cold...he always sounds like that just not so low...anyway. You have to stop caring about what you're known for," says Martin. "So even if it's shit, at least it's brave." - how nice is that:shocked2::D
April 5, 200818 yr well this continues to heighten my anticipation for this album. I'm sure he low registers will be very refreshing. and it does look like this next album with certaintly be colorful. Kind of annoying actually, hearing about all these radio guys hearing the album before us.
