When were b-sides from X&Y released? After the album sometime? Just curious...:)

 

I only became a huge fan post-X&Y, but I think they released: Gravity, Proof, The World Turned Upside Down and Things I Don't Understand. They were out with the various singles.

So, when were the singles released? I'm guessing after the album. All we can hope for is that they take pity on us and post a track before the album comes out!:laugh3:

X&Y was available in a listening party the night before it's release on their web site. SOS came out a month or so before the LP release.

ditto. i really REALLY hope both of those end up as b-sides. i'll be really sad if we never get to hear them.

 

well, maybe i shouldn't be saying that because i have NO idea what they sound like, but i love the titles so much that i think they would have great potential as songs.

 

I think Rainy Day will definitely be released at some point because they've mentioned it more than once, but PFFA is less likely in my opinion because it has only been mentioned once as far as I'm concerned.

Good thought about FOP, I have a good feeling you're right. They seem similar in some way, plus that website that was discovered a few weeks ago had the FOP theme so we know it's an important part of the album.

yeah, b-sides are the one or two songs that come out on the same disc/download as the singles. that and music videos are why i think singles are so exciting!

 

usually there's one single released shortly before the album and two-three after, all with one or two b-sides each.

OMFG I couldn't be more depressed with this news! I know the band has always been great and whatever they come out with will be good, but I was looking forward to Famous Old Painters so much, now its not even a single or b-side? I just want to know why "Prospekt" built up so much excitement over songs we may never hear. I'm starting to really hate this guy. :veryangry:

Anyone noticed how track 3 always seems to be a darker song? Spies, GPASUYF, White Shadows. Do you think Lost will follow that theme? I hope so as track 3 and track 1 have always been my favs in the past.

They've got about 20 songs from what I've read, and what they've left off wouldn't have been left off because they're not great songs, it'd be because it doesn't fit onto the tracklisting too well. An album with too many tracks would get boring eventually regardless great they are.

some of the greatest albums of all time have been double albums with over 20 songs ie Physical Graffiti (led zeppelin) and the Wall (pink Floyd). i guess i have very high expectations of the band. As long as the album flows well and falls into myself nicely ill be more than happy. Something on par with in rainbows will be awesome. all i really want is coldplay to have their own sound instead of borrowing from their inspirers (if thats even a word) like radiohead and U2.

They will have their own sound. This is coldplay, I highly doubt that they will dish out copied shit for their fourth album. It doesn't follow with their personalities.

i hate how everything i see has the album title as viva la vida or death and all his friends. its just viva la vida now!

if I have the right to complain a little I don't like that the album has the same title as a song (or two?), that connects to much with Parachutes, AROBTTH and X&Y. It doesn't "end the triology".

 

Woo how excited I got when i read that the songs had new build ups (even thou I had read it before). Like :

think about all the time passing this way:

it's been almost exactly a month since all the news spilled out about the album; march 17-20, it was. it's april 12 today. i don't know about you guys, but that month just FLEW by for me! i have a very hard time believing that was a month, actually. so just two more of those little spans of time and we've got it in our hands! and probably a couple songs in that time too to keep us going. just think: they could have made the album release a LOT later, like in august or novemeber or something insane. we don't have much longer to wait at all!!
