Its impossible to say, because no Coldplay song is shite.

On Radiohead: "I think if you imagine Radiohead going through a jungle clearing a path, then we're the ones who are probably just criminally paving it. I always see Radiohead as the braver people."

- Chris Martin

No offense but, Coldplay makes generally better music that doesnt sound like radiohead's.

I think you should stop this vendetta against Coldplay. You definately aren't as brave as Radiohead if your crapping on Coldplay fans every 5 minutes ;)

With all due respect, go and jump off something from a great height.

LOL

Cemeteries of London is a blatant Creep cover version.

No, I meant the song.

Or I was talking to the opener of this thread, choose for yourself ;)

;)

Which song do YOU think sounds a lot like radiohead?

Heres a couple that are kinda similar to Radiohead, try this yourself and youll notice how different the bands are.

No more keeping my feet on the ground, A rush of blood to the head, Twisted logic.

the album parachutes reminds me of subterranean homesick alien

Coldplay have good variety going on, especially now that they've been working with Eno. I think Radiohead's stuff all pretty much sounds the same except for Kid A.

Radiohead is just bitter they're not as "uncool" as Coldplay. I believe Chris Martin takes a certain pride in the fact Coldplay is sort of considered lame - even if he won't admit it. Think about it: the tables have turned. It used to be that "indie" music was uncool (back when Radiohead was fresh) and therefore you were an individualist for listening to it. But now EVERYBODY loves Radiohead, so they've lost their counterculture cred. In order to make up for that, they released an album (In Rainbows) online for free - their way of "sticking it to the man". But in reality it was just more of the same, tired old Thom Yorke whiny crap we've already heard a million times, with a couple DECENT songs on there (Reckoner comes to mind).

Coldplay have the advantage of raking in the dough while simultaneously being chick magnets. Remember that movie 40 Year Old Virgin, where the guy says "You know how I know you're gay? Because you listen to Coldplay." Well guess what? Turns out the guys who listen to Coldplay are the ones who are more likely getting the hot girls. I'm just sayin'.

I don't agree with you Saffire, shure, Coldplay and Radiohead are two different bands, so far i'm with you. And even do they have some similuarities they shouldn't be compared to each other as much as they are.

And yes, I actually think Coldplay is comfortable being more mainstream then Radiohead are. But seriously, Radiohead are an amazing band, they always keep changing, trying to find new ways (including new ways to release music) and that's something I truly respect them for. They are very brave.

And i have a feeling that hopefully with this album Coldplay will be brave to, abandon their cosy familiuar couch and try to do something new, something that the world don't expect. And that's inspiration from Radiohead.

To bad you don't like In Rainbows "tired old Thom Yorke whiny crap".

I personally think it's an amazing album.

I've always found the drum pattern of "In My Place" to be similar to the drum pattern of "High & Dry" by Radiohead... and the layout of "Yellow" to be sort of similar to "High & Dry". But besides that, I don't see much else. Dumb comparison, always has been.

Still I don't know why most people around here seems to hate Radiohead. Don't you know that Chris & co love Radiohead?

I think that Such a rush, God put a smile upon your face and Twisted Logic are the most Radioheaded Coldplay tunes.

Shouldn't this thread be renamed 'Which At Ease Member Had Time On their Hands today?'?;)

I love RH, and Yes, Chris himself admits they may be a better band, so I'm not going to argue this...again. I hear RH's influence in Coldplay songs, but no real direct similarity.

aw geez.. NONE of them sound like Radiohead ....this comparison is just sad

..I mean, I like Radiohead but both bands sound really different to me
