3*

I'm so used to watching Muse's epic performances, this just seemed so sub-par!

But I understand that they were nervous and haven't toured in a while. <3

I think it was okay.. could've been worse but also MUCH better !

seeing Chris so nervous was kinda cute though !

but again, it's just that one performance.. not worried about what's next :nice:

Yeah it wasn't that great, but still very good :)

I thought it was good... It will be great in concert after they are used to playing it. I really hope to see it w/live strings someday.

I think I was so nervous for them on the first watch that I couldn't enjoy it...after seeing it a few times I'd say they did good...bring on more Coldplay, please!

It was ok, but I think they can do much better.

just OK

the rest of band is good but chris... he could do it so much better

i just missed the real strings. i don't like playback.

that being said: great performance .

same for me and the confetti machine made too much noise :dozey:

3* - It was okay, but nothing special. Chris seemed a little bit stressed at the beginning, but the ending chorus was great with him clapping and asking if everybody's okay :)

I was really disappointed.

That said, it was the first ever live performance so I'm not worrying, I'm sure there's great things to come :)

It was good. Having heard/seen the band live more times than I can count, I (and the rest of us here, for that matter) am pretty used to Chris being slightly off-key. His voice did crack during the first chorus, but I'll attribute that to nerves. Many people have already said that live strings would've been better, and I'll echo that sentiment. I'm just not sure it was possible to do it for this show. They probably had a lot of restrictions for set up & break down times, since they were using the main stage. If they had their own stage, I think we would've seen a more elaborate performance. All in all, it was a good way to introduce the mainstream public to Viva La Vida. I still think Violet Hill would've been a more appropriate performance considering that the video's currently making the rounds, but a decent choice nonetheless since so many people have seen the VLV iTunes commercial.

If I was singing in front of a crowd full of those dimwitted celebs I'd be nervous too. Not in my element at all.

Chris did a fine job, really. He didn't perform exceptionally well but he executed the song wonderfully. I thoroughly enjoyed their show from beginning to end, particularly when Jonny and Will join in - goosebumps!

Only suggestion would've been to back down with the confetti. The first lot (red) came out way too early in the song, before anyone had really gotten into it, and left it feeling a little, anti-climatic. A part from that, great great great :)

it was okay but they're better than that!

i said 3* because the music was very well performed, absolutely BRILLIANT for their first performance in over a year!! and i really, really hate to say it, but it was chris's nervousness and how it showed in his voice brought the thing down

that said, for a first performance, that's completely expected, and i think that was fine. i think we just got all pumped up with excitement about seeing them again and some of us were initially let down a bit, but we understand now :D. i just hope the guys (chris, really) aren't too hard on themselves :D

check the multimedia section, Nina :)

Yea the only thing that could have been better for me was his voice. I've heard him sing worse though. I'd say it was surprisingly good for their first time in a while.

I thought it was a good performance, but there were a few things that could've been changed.

Eh, that was pretty bad. I thought Chris's voice was just blah (but as many of you said, first live performance in a while) and I was hoping that for this song they'd do something more creative than just use backing tracks for the strings and what not. And haha yeah, that confetti was poorly done as well. They performed well though, fun to watch.

It was really a 3, but it was so good to see Chris and the boys back singing live, that I give it a 4. Chris did seem a bit nervous at the beginning but by the end of the song he seemed better. :) Though it's just great to have the boys back! :D
