a_face_of_light
Probably not, although I don't think it will be a popular move with fans, selling Milito is a good idea not Sneijder, Eto'o and Pazzini have been doing pretty well up front, yes Tevez is a good player but I think Sneijder is more important in the team. Reilly
Sneijder doesn't seem to be happy to stay, if he was then you'd add another £10-£20million to that price tag. As for Teves £40m is over the top, this is the first season he's consistently proven himself and while a great talent, I'd say he's half that and £30m at the most. But hey at the very top of todays game transfer fees are just a number, it's irrelevant, if the player performs then it's a good buy nomatter what. busybeeburns
Bolton crush Arsenal title hopes Bolton 2 - 1 Arsenal Arsenal's title challenge is all but over after they were beaten by a last-minute goal at Bolton. The Gunners were below-par in the first half and trailed at half-time to Daniel Sturridge's header following a corner. Early in the second half, Wojciech Szczesny saved a Kevin Davies penalty and a minute later Robin van Persie slotted in an equaliser for Arsenal. The visitors had enough chances to win the match but were left shell-shocked by Tamir Cohen's late header. After wins for league-leaders Manchester United and rejuvenated challengers Chelsea on Saturday, the equation was a simple one for Arsenal: win, or essentially wave goodbye to this year's title challenge and their last remaining hopes of silverware. Three points here would have left the Gunners knowing that victory over United at the Emirates next Sunday would have taken them to within three points of the leaders, but they now trail Sir Alex Ferguson's men by nine points with only 12 to play for. Having spent much of the season as United's closest challengers for the league, Arsenal now face a battle to secure second, with Chelsea holding a three-point lead and a superior goal-difference over them. There was a time, not long ago, when Arsenal's performances at the Reebok represented a central tenet of the argument that Arsene Wenger's side were a soft-touch. Three successive victories in a run of eight straight wins in total over Bolton prior to Sunday had helped diminish accusations of their physical fallibility. But doubts remain about the Gunners mental strength, which was further fuelled by their sacrificing of a two-goal lead in last Wednesday's 3-3 draw at north London rivals Tottenham, and will now come under the severest scrutiny. This is not to suggest that a victory in Lancashire would have flattered them. They fashioned enough chances in the second half alone to comfortably win the game. The fact that they did not, when you suspect their rivals would have, is telling. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9462367.stm

Guest howyousawtheworld
Celtic and Rangers game went off with no trouble thankfully. However I've now come to the conclusion that Neil Lennon is a complete moron who is quite happy to let the fiery divisions between Celtic and Rangers fans spread with his mocking gestures to the Rangers fans after the game today. You'd expect something better from someone who is the victim of terrorist activity from Rangers fans. Total idiot. Next season both McCoist and Lennon will be managing those two clubs. God help the Old Firm.

mc_squared
Arsenal have well and truly crashed. You can say that again. Talk about "implosion"! The way they're finishing the season, they might even end up being overhauled by City.:stunned: Seems like the league is over boys... It was over weeks ago. It was obvious Arsenal were going nowhere fast.:dozey: As I've said previously, the Premiership has been of a poor standard this season. Man U have virtually won it by default.:dozey:

mc_squared
like i always say. it's not about being good. it's about being the best. Yes, and United have simply been the best of a poor bunch this season. Incidentally, I have just watched "United" and thought it was excellent. David Tennant once again showed what a great actor he is.
Guest howyousawtheworld
David Tennant was sublime in that. Although at times I thought Dougray Scott sounded more Vladimir Busby than Matt Busby. Still it didn't ruin what was a great drama.

To come back from that and do all that he managed to do was incredible.;)

busybeeburns
Sir Alex Ferguson reveals pride in Man Utd Euro display Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson hailed the 2-0 win at Schalke in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final as "one of the best". United were dominant in Germany and Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney both scored to leave Ferguson full of praise. "Juventus in 1999 will always be on the list of great performances away from home in Europe but this certainly ranks as one of them," Ferguson said. "The players have confidence and trust in each other and they are peaking." United produced a blistering display at the Veltins-Arena, bombarding the home side's goal only to see their goalkeeper Manuel Neuer make a series of sensational saves to keep the score goalless at half-time. Neuer was finally beaten when Rooney set up Giggs to score, before Javier Hernandez teed up Rooney to double the lead and put United on the brink of the Champions League final at Wembley on 28 May. Ferguson has witnessed many fine United displays away from home in Europe during his tenure, most notably the 3-2 win at Juventus in the semi-final second leg in 1999, after being 2-0 down, which booked their place in the final that year. He added: "Overall I was delighted. It was a top performance. We have had some fantastic performances in Europe during my time and this was right up there. The concentration issue is important away from home in Europe. It is a different tempo at times and requires really good concentration. Credit to the players - they have shown that throughout the campaign. Over the past two or three years we have got a way of playing in Europe away from home. It requires some experience of course and the most important thing is to have confidence in possession of the ball." Ferguson praised Giggs, who at the age of 37 is continuing to amaze his manager. "It is strange because Ryan's peak years seem to have lasted so long," Ferguson stated. "You would think, at 37, he would be showing signs of waning. I don't see any evidence of that. We look after him in terms of rest before games but when he gets that freshness he doesn't show any sign of fatiguing at all. He is an amazing man." Manchester United players took to Twitter after the match to revel in their impressive victory. Skipper and central defender Rio Ferdinand posted: "Great result [shoulda scored a couple more] still got to produce a performance 2nd leg. Great stadium + our fans were loud+clear, thanks!" And striker Rooney tweeted : "Thought we were class today hope u all enjoyed. Thx to everyone's good luck messages. Giggs. Wow. He's unreal." However, French defender Patrice Evra warned against complacency and insisted that this semi-final is not yet over. "n football you never know," the 29-year-old said. "I remember playing for Monaco in the 2004 quarter-final and we played in the Bernabeu against Real Madrid and lost 4-2. "Real thought they were going into the semi-final. They thought they were there already. But in the second leg we won 3-1 and went through. We have to be as professional next week as we were last night and keep going. e have to win at Old Trafford. But I must say if we don't go through to the final now then it would be a disaster for Man United." Ferguson reserved special praise for Neuer, a goalkeeper with whom he has been linked, but who is almost certainly going to join Bayern Munich in the summer when his Schalke contract runs out. "We know he's going to Bayern, he was absolutely fantastic," the Scot commented. "That was one of the best performances from a goalie I've ever seen against us. Funnily enough I think it was when Javier scored his offside goal [in the 50th minute] that was decisive - suddenly the players thought they could actually score against this guy." Schalke coach Ralf Rangnick refused to admit the tie was over going into the second leg, at Old Trafford on Wednesday, 4 May. "We had imagined this game differently," reflected Rangnick. "We lacked the final pass today which we had against Inter Milan in the quarter-finals. We had to thank Neuer that we were not two or three goals down in the first half. "But why should we capitulate? We need to do things differently and in football many things have happened. We have shown we can score away from home and we will try to get our chances in Manchester." But Rangnick admitted that his side were second best in the first leg and added: "Manchester were on a different level than Inter Milan [in the quarter-finals]. We reached our limits. We will certainly need a wonder to progress. Our starting position now certainly points to Manchester having the advantage but in football you never know." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/9468875.stm

There is a million names we can call them apart from this- both us and liverpool.. should also be in trouble. 1. We kept a moment of silence in the game for the Hillisbrough which was impicable. 2. 10 minutes into the game, we start both signing.. " if you hate Man Utd " and ended it in the horrible fashion.
