I'm afraid Blackpool's "gung-ho" tactics came back to haunt them in the end.;)

Owen Hargreaves will be leaving Man Utd over the summer. can't help but have mixed feelings towards him. he did cost 20 million and only gave us 40 games in 4 seasons but i feel bad for the guy with all the injuries he has endured.

His position at Man U had obviously become untenable, therefore it's no surprise.

He won't be the only one being shown the door, either. The other "Owen" will be joining him, for a start.;)

It's always the best players that these things happen to for England. Owen Hargreaves on his day was the best defensive midfielder in Europe, perhaps the world. His injuries may have denied Man Utd but they've denied England even more. While he was injured you had someone as average as Gareth Barry in his place. And looking at Barry's performances in the world cup last year alone (yes they were all bad but if people watch the Germany v England match again his performance was probably the worst of the lot) you just wonder how much Capello wanted Hargreaves.

I agree. A fully-fit Hargreaves was sorely missed in South Africa. He was England's best player back in 2006 after all.;)

I'm going to miss Hargreaves, he was amazing for us and England. I'm sad. Gareth Barry was rubbish but why did Capello bring him to SA when he was injured. Also Lennon, who wasn't fit and Walcott was. Didn't Capello say he wasn't going to bring anyone injured.

He was booed as well, stupid fan's but there where not booing after his performance.:dozey:

They should have saved their boos for Wayne Booney, who deserved them.

Exactly^ He was so rubbish, it was almost unbelievable.

A total disgrace, and an insult to the England shirt.:dozey:

But Capello still didn't have the guts to drop him. Prick.

Capello made some very strange decisions all round. He should have taken Darren Bent instead of Crouch, for starters.;)

^Whats wrong with Crouchy, he is good, Darren Bent annoys me.

Darren Bent has proven himself as a potent goalscorer at every club he's played for (other than Spurs, where he wasn't really given a decent crack).

Crouch only seems to be able to score against lesser opposition, and already appears to be past his best.

^Whats wrong with Crouchy, he is good, Darren Bent annoys me.

I prefer Crouch as a striker over Darren Bent. Any day of the week. Bent is a consistent goalscorer but unlike Crouch he hasn't proven himself in an England shirt and I have no confidence that he will ever do so.

And as for Rooney - dropping Rooney has been an impossible feat not just for Capello but for McClaren and Eriksson. He's only had one worthy, world class spell in an England shirt and that was at Euro 2004. The rest of the time he's been running all over the pitch like a crazed bull generally doing fuck all. Yet this satisfies the English media who are just as to blame for making Rooney bullet proof. Only they call him one of the best in the world. He ain't even the best player from England. It's a disgrace to the likes of Messi and co that their name is placed alongside that of Rooney's. An absolute joke.

Crouch is not a good player. Not even close.

You're absolutely right. And I know most of you will disagree, but I think the same can be said about Cristiano Ronaldo.

Crouch is a very handy player. Of course not world class or even he level below world class but he's a handy asset for a lot of teams. Great at holding the ball up for say a more technically gifted footballer.

Ronaldo's got a great eye for goal. But quite frankly he doesn't come close in quality to a Lionel Messi or Kaka. There are a whole lot more intelligent players out there than Ronaldo. Ronaldo doesn't compare with the stars of the Real Madrid galactico's from a decade ago of Zidane, Figo, the real Ronaldo etc for a start.

Playing against La Coruña, Xerez and Almería, sure.

Agreed.

Like I said, he's not a good player. But yeah, he's a handy asset in some situations.

Kaka, I think has past it, now Messi and Ronaldo are named the best in the world. But yeah Messi>Ronaldo any day. But don't forget Ronaldo, he sometimes just blows me away.

I know, he does have a great record, but for some reason I still dont think hes great. I think it's his technique or something.

40 goals in La Liga this season? In a league of the highest quality? Even those who hate him most have to admit his supreme eye for goal.

Kaka, I think has past it

Yep

now Messi and Ronaldo are named the best in the world. But yeah Messi>Ronaldo any day. But don't forget Ronaldo, he sometimes just blows me away.

Messi is the best, PERIOD. Cristiano Ronaldo is "just" a very good player, no better and no worse ("I just got looooost" :P)

La Liga? Highest quality? Oh please! It's a two-horse race. A league with Mallorca, Getafe and alikes can't be of the highest quality. It just can't.

Yep

What?! Surely it's not hard to realise that technically La Liga is the best in the world! It doesn't matter whether two teams dominate the league. Two teams dominate the Scottish Premier League. You gonna say La Liga is on the same level as the SPL for that reason alone?! Please!

You can't judge a league only on the number of plausible contenders, but it's certainly the first criteria on the list.

Both La Liga and SPL are two-horse races, so they're tied in this criteria. The difference is that the "two horses" in La Liga are two amazing teams, while in SPL they are two crappy teams. You just can't compare SPL to La Liga, but that doesn't mean La Liga is great. La Liga is boring; overall, its quality is low, with two amazing teams, a few good teams and the rest being a pile of shit.

Ronaldo is annoying but he's the second best player in the world. Period.

I used to like Barca but since all Barca fans are pretentious ****s and hate Real Madrid I have to defend Madrid :disappointed:

In 40 days Ronaldo could be ours... Mancini said !

we have a better chance though at getting FABERGRAS.. and Sanchez and Snider are in the bag already
