To be more specific, they came bottom behind Ajax, who were swiftly eliminated in the Europa league by a Romanian team (Or maybe that's what you meant anyway by "beaten", as City were literally beaten by Ajax in one of the matches). So it really is the same as saying something like, for example, Montenegro coming last in their group but feeling some false pride because the 2 qualifiers got to the semi's, there really is no value in noticing it if they didn't at least come close to qualifying in the first place. Christ, is he still posting non-stop about City? In this instance, like a lot of the time, he didn't even make his point clear he just insinuated.
