Lewandowski with 4?! :o If they hold on for the next 15+mins without conceding a 2nd, it looks inevitable for all-German final, I think at any stage of the competition everyone expected at least Barca or RM to be in that final, nope again this year.

April 24, 201313 yr Best night of Lewandowski's life, surely some kind of record. The finish on the 3rd was insane. I expected a draw or maybe a close win for Dortmund (bet 7 bucks on it anyway), but if possible, this was more astounding than last night. Even in the final 10 minutes, Dortmund was so comfortable in possession. Both Spanish teams struggled consistently to generate anything in the final 3rd. I kept expecting some kind of curse to break, but it never did.
April 24, 201313 yr For me both nights are highlighting how these 2 German sides had nearly everything the 2 Spanish teams have (On the night, at least) but the edge was strength, they won more 50/50s and when things got scrappy with loose balls it was someone on the German teams who took control and calmed it down. Also the work rate is nowhere near what it was for both Spanish sides, especially Barca, a season or two ago if you're playing Barca once you get possession within a flash you'll have 2 or 3 opposing players sprinting at you- constant pressure non-stop, they don't have the same urgency now.

I watched Bayern v Barca (only because I don't have Sky Sports but anyway), Barca had their chances, take their young defender who turn and blasted the ball into Heskey territory, i.e. row ZZ but Bayern eclipsed them and the Catalans couldn't contain them, and especially Robben who played like he was 22!

April 27, 201313 yr Suarez 'did not grasp gravity of offence' Suarez 'did not grasp gravity of offence' The report outlining the reasons for Luis Suarez's 10-game ban says he "did not appreciate the seriousness of his biting offence Luis Suarez did not appreciate "the seriousness" of biting Branislav Ivanovic when he argued against a long ban, says a Football Association panel. The Liverpool striker accepted a three-game violent conduct ban, but claimed the incident did not deserve more. However when he was banned for 10 games he decided not to appeal. The FA's written reasons for the ban stated it should send out a "strong message that such deplorable behaviours do not have a place in football". The 21-page rationale, published by the three-man independent panel appointed to rule on the case, noted that Suarez's tussle with Chelsea defender Ivanovic in the teams' 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday had been "seen by millions of viewers both domestic and overseas, as well as generating a great deal of interest and debate amongst countless number of people". It continued: "Whilst we accepted that Mr Suarez's reputation had been impacted, these unsavoury pictures would have given a bad image of English football domestically and across the world alike. "All players in the higher level of the game are seen as role models, have the duty to act professionally and responsibly, and set the highest example of good conduct to the rest of the game - especially to young players." Suarez was was banned for seven games in November 2010 while playing for Dutch side Ajax for a similar incident in which he bit PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal's shoulder during a match. During his time at Liverpool, the Uruguayan has received bans of eight matches for racially abusing Manchester United defender Patrice Evra and one match for making an an abusive gesture at Fulham fans. However the panel appointed by the FA to decide on Suarez's case said that it considered his latest indiscretion in isolation. It also added that although the FA did not take any further action against Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe in 2006 after he was booked for an apparent bite on Javier Mascherano, it could only deal with matters placed before them. Instead the panel considered two incidents from this year where the Football Association considered that, as in the Suarez case, a three-match ban was insufficient. Those involved a panel choosing not to increase Chelsea winger Eden Hazard's punishment for kicking a ball boy against Swansea in January and doubling Ashley Barnes' suspension to six games after the Brighton player tripped a referee in March. After considering various factors including Suarez's intent to injure Ivanovic, the need to deter possible future incidents and the damage to English football's image, the panel decided that "this offence is significantly more serious than that of Ashley Barnes' and, accordingly, the punishment should be significantly higher". Amongst its conclusions the panel stated that "biting an opponent is alien to football and must remain so". "It is completely unacceptable and such truly disgraceful behaviour," it added. Liverpool were "bitterly disappointed" by the length of the ban with manager Brendan Rodgers saying the FA had "punished the man" rather than the actual offence.
