Lucky enough one of the papers did employ a cartoonist to capture the winning goal by Plymouth :P

Hey Reilly, don't worry Man City will be screwed when Uefa's new rules come in regarding football debt

Martin O'neill just quite suddenly. Villa are screwed and left in limbo than.

Left before the ship sank. Still a legend.

With us living within our means, we are spending Billion around the site of the ground to create restaurants, entertainment centres.. bars..Hotels . and housing..etc we get all the money from this as a part of the clubs portfolio.

Don't worry we have the plan to take care of Plantini.. and his pen pushers !

But is that your money or just money gifted to you by the means of a zero-interest loan?

It's unfortunate that the area around Eastlands is (and always will be) extremely poor and despite the resurgence of cheap housing, will never be as prestigous as the Trafford district (Cheshire Set - Bowdon, Hale Barns, West Timperley blah blah blah) and surrounding landscape of Salford Quays and the salubrious M50 district.

Sheik or no shiek, City live in the shabby end of town!

When you come to Barcelona, you will see the area around the Camp Nou was a dump, we are copying the same Model. Its now pretty with lots of Bars etc. !

I present to you "The Maine Place"... (the ball is the centre spot of the football ground)

I wish they had coloured that lady's white top in red and black

Daryl, the naivety slays me! You don't just get lots of money risk-free. How long do you think the owners will be patient for? They're putting in all this money, and sure, it's like monopoly money to them, to a totally passionless but individually incredibly talented squad, and getting nothing back.

From a deluded billionaire moron's point of view, you'd expect big bucks to equal unlimited trophies, and how many seasons will pass before they pull the plug? Keep signing the big names who don't give a shit, it won't mean anything.

When that eventually happens, watch as the new owners do everything they can to discard that club, and who the hell would buy it? The weeky club salary is what most teams spend in a summer, absolutely screwed.

Don't look forward to winning trophies, really be scared of not winning them, because you'll be totally fucked.

As for Southampton, I think they were trying to think of an innovative new way to make money, and ended up looking like total bastards. Personally I don't even know what they've done wrong, it's their stadium so it's their rules, photographers can argue that over the years they've covered Southampton, but that's what they got paid for. What's even more embarassing is the Sun's petty, vindictive coverage of the game, but what else do you expect.

The situation with debt ridden clubs/clubs operating at massive losses in football is horrific. Man City won't escape possible UEFA rules which wants t reign in excessive spending and that's good because that'll mean we won't get to see the sort of bullying forecful, intimidating tactics employed by the likes of them again. Remember the Kaka/Man City debacle in January 2009. Totally wrong. Gary Cook the Man City Chief Excec proved himself that he was a **** of the highest order from that point onwards. And then we have owners who are just incredibly disastrous at running clubs that they wouldn't even be able to run a successful high school Young Enterprise team. Hicks and Gillett - I'm looking at you. Yes, the incredibly dim and incompetent American owners of Liverpool. Bought the club in 2007 for £235 million. Now, with the club almost 400 million in debt, no new stadium in sight and no longer in the champions league following a shocking 7th place (Rafa partly to blame on that side admittedly) in the league. After all that - they've put the club up for sale for £800 million. Absolutely disgraceful. That's why I'm hoping this Huang lad buys the club by buying the debt because that way those useless Yanks leave with not a penny gained. And as much as I don't like them, it's about time the Americans at Old Trafford just give up and put the club up for sale after the mega debt that is carried around by that club.

Haha, and how did that debt happen? The Glaziers who promised not to spend a penny of United's money on external affairs, have been pumping every last bit of currency into the disastrous housing market in the US desperately hoping for a return. They've already bled Man U dry, but who do they owe debt to? The FA certainly can't impose fines of a billion pound, investors can't do anything they are just a part of the debt, and this is where the multi million pound chairmen effect completely lacks any kind of sense.

Malcolm Glazier can continue to run the club into debt without any repercussions, making a profit on Man United is the last thing in that family's plans.

Club ownership

Manchester City Football Club is owned 100% by His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Oh well everythings rosie then!

That means absolutely nothing, of course they're going to re-assure you that the blue half of Manchester will be some dream land with a dozen trophies in the next decade, why do you suddenly just believe it?

How many clubs recently had been assured of the same comfort, and are riddled in debt.

i can't wait till saturday when i can join the thread and talk about interesting things. i don't know how you guys can sit there and talk for so long about the 'amazing finances' of a team that aren't even in the top 4.

It's about time rules were introduced whereby all profits generated by a club have to be ploughed back into that club (or English football in general), and that all outgoings (including players' wages and player purchases) have to be justified in terms of clubs not going into the red because of it etc. etc.

At the end of each season, clubs should then have to prove that their books have been balanced before they are permitted to splash out any more money on wages or players.

If multi-millionaires want to own football clubs, they should at least be forced to do so responsibly without milking them dry.:dozey:

having debt in a company isnt always bad. at the moment around 40% of man utd's value is debt. but because their assets and equity amounts to over a billion pounds man utd could if they wanted to erase their debt quite easily but they choose not to because their debts are seen as investments which give them strong returns so erasing the debt would mean losing those investment hence losing those returns. man utd could sell old trafford, take away about half a billion pounds and erase a bulk of their debt but they would be losing the returns that structure is providing the club.

Despite my taunts about or biiter rivals....

I would not wish this on them, its bang out of order that season ticket holders at OT have to submit their Credit Card deatils so when UTD have a cup game at home their cards are charged for a ticket to the game whether they go or not..

You will suprairsed... However since you have never been too old trafford or even been near Manchester I would never expect you to understand...

It's always interesting to get the views of a Blackburn Rovers fan, after all it was Jack Walker who started this spending culture in the first place! :laugh3:

Hence the song, "You'll Never Walker Loan"??
